I don't think so. I've heard that it's a urban legend and plenty of people have death dreams and wake up the next morning.

I really dunno for sure but i surely have seen one... becuase my cousin had a nightmare after his graduation and he had a nightmare and he is just howling really hard and his parents try to wake him up but it still no use until he stopped but when he stopped he is already dead... :'(

I don't believe that you die for real if you're dying in your dream, because I simply can't believe how your brains can be capable to let you die if you're in a perfectly healthy condition, I just don't think that's possible.
It's pretty much the same thing as the self ignition (the phenomenon that people spontaniously can get on fire and die while they are sleeping), I saw a documentary on National Geographic, but I can't believe that either.

I was shot to death in two different dreams and woke up without any kind of residual effects. Both times, it was in the chest, and it was actually painful, and I found my vision getting blurry and my body feel cold. So, I think that it is not possible, or just extremely rare for that to happen. Anyways, if someone died because they were having a dream, how the hell would another person know? It's not like the person cracked open an eye at the last moment and sheepishly said "Nightmare..." then winked and died.
Well, I've seen dreams when I fall of building, get shot by a bullet, or a missle, but when I'm always about to die, I always wake up, so I never die, for some reason, but my friend dies when he falls off building or dies in any other way, but hey, he's alive

I dont think if you die in a dream you'll die in reral life. The only rational way would be if you had a pre-existing heart condition. Then had a bad dream that triggered a heart attack.

Well... iguess it is possible to truly die if you died in a dream, but i think it would be a very very rare case. the will power and the thoughts of the brain are very powerful.... hence, i think if you dream and you seriously think youre dead, i think you might die in the real world. (i did not intend to sound like some matrix character just now.. hahah...) this is just a guess.
but yeah... everytime i'm about to die in a dream, i wake up, so i never actually die. but if i get shot or if i get stabbed or hurt, i do feel pain. it's so wierd.

.. unless your nightmare gives you a heart attack while your asleep ... The dying in a dream makes you die for real is great for sci fie films though ^_^
Well.. I've heard about it more than 50 times!
But, I think it's imposible! I died in my own dream more than 20 times, but I'm still Alive and still can join this forum, hehehe.. As you know, if we at the most scared level of the dream, we will awake with hard breath..

I don't know if anyone can die in their sleep, but I guess if you have a really bad dream that can trigger a stroke or something thus causing the fatality then its a possibility. Apart from that I doubt that dreaming of death really results in death o_O...
