Atlantis
With all ancient structures popping out all over the world do you think atlantis was the role model for all ancient civilizations from ancient egypt to the incas. Did atlantis really existed or did plato just played too much final fantasy.

I think atlantis really did exist...we just don't know where it is...or where exactlly it is...i believe it...hey there's no final fantasy at plato's age?hahahah....
Well it may exist... it may not... well whatever the writing that Plato wrote WAY back... all matter now is to support it with facts... which until now there is no concrete proof that Atlantis exist
Well I think that it excists. Perhaps not exactly how Plato described it but something that resembles it greatly. But we will never know until we have hard evidence confirming.
It is very possible that Atlantis existed. As the tsunami last year clearly demonstrated, entire coastal civilizations can be completely buried and lost until something digs them up again. I forget what country it was, but the huge Tsunami last year uncovered ancient ruins of a city that had been completely buried under meters upon meters of sand. The strong wave had enough of an effect to remove all that sand and uncover the ruins. There is currently a huge excavation going on in the area to uncover the ruins. So, if a civilization in asia can be completely forgotten and erased, why not a european? After all, thousands of years ago during the time that Atlantis actually was supposed to exist, Europe had stronger and more frequent earthquakes that could have caused a giant tsunami to demolish the coastal/island city.
But who knows...it's a myth...but one which archeaologists have been searching for for centuries.

Atlantis may have just been a city on an island, we don't know for sure.
I suggest we pray to God or demand Mother Nature to cause tidal waves all over so we can find Atlantis. Of course, we need time to prepare for the incoming waves... and not die... O____o

Well, atlantis... it's really a difficult thing to argue about since some of plato's 'facts' are true. one of them was thera's cliffs, a volcano that supposed to be destroyed atlantis. but then, there's so many theories and many tried to prove them but they couldn't. there's just not enough proof to show that atlantis did exist. there were even attempts to prove that basques of spain and france, the original inhabitants of italy, and the indians of south america were descended from the atlanteans, who were said to have overrun the entire mediterranean.
yeah, and archeologists have been searching all over to find proofs of that continent. [they say it's a continent since it was larger than asia minor and libya combined]

HELLO....they went there! And I think Disney knows somthin bout historical correctness. Hercules, duh?
But IMO Atlantis is just another version of Eden...paradise lost. People always want to believe in something better, an ideal that is somehow unattainable yet realistic. Personally I prefer aliens lol.

Imo it did exist. Earth is really old and we can't just throw aside a theory on atlantis just because we haven't found enough evidence to support it. Maybe we're people are looking at atlantis in the wrong places. I believe their civilization may have been vastly different from our own thats why its hard to believe their existence . Their technology,knowledge, spirituality, lifestyle, social structure etc arent the same as what we have since 5000bc or so. But what about the pyramids, crop patterns, stonehenge? where did the people who built it got the advances technology and mathematical precision?
