Hana no Kimi. Good, Bad, or Okay? What are your thoughts on this Manga?

I personally liked Hana no Kimi, but when i told my friends / family it's story line. They just said it sounded extremely bad, gay, and such. I don't see why, It's actually really good.

I Created this Topic to see other peoples thoughts and who their Fav Characters were.

My Favorite Character was Hokuto Umeda, the school doctor. He just made me laugh and I liked the way he looked. Him and Nakatsuki were always my favorites, I never liked Sano Izumi too much. ( I also really really like the 'Aura / Ghost' seeing guy. I forgot his name though )

Ooh my gosh. I didn't want Mizuki to end up with Sano!!~~ No! lol. They were always making each other feel bad or something.

Hana Kimi is one of the nice mangas that I know because of the good story! It is a story that you never can know what will happened before you read it,I really like the story and the last chapters make me cry!
A really good manga

Well I don't like the idea with yaoi usually but I bought a yaoi doujinshi,haha,because I liked too much the cover but anyway back to the point I still liked the doctor too and yeah it was because of his looks also,his relatives were really good looking too but it still bothered me that he wasn't at least bi but one thing I liked about him and his lover being gay was the fact that they acted normal,I mean you know usually there are guys who like guys and simply behave like girls in mangas and in animes and even worse they look like girls and dress like them(well that is mostly the desire of the artist but why shouldn't they make them women after all) so I liked their normality,no one could even suspect them,especially the doctor if he didn't say it clearly or if the images didn't talk for themselves.So basically I liked that part of him being gay but a real man,behaving like a man I mean.
Anyway everyone is free to behave as he/she pleases...back to the subject again...I said that because I don't want anyone to take my words bad...but since most of the mangas are made by women it seems unusual.
Anyway I really liked the story line and I am a big fan of the artist.I really don't know how come you didn't like Sano,I am a huge fan of him...I loved that guy and also the way he behaved near her,from my point of view the ending was sad a little because the manga remained natural and still interesting even after so many volumes but I also found it beautiful.
The story was not the usual type either,I mean I sort of get annoyed(but still read them) of the type of mangas where she confesses and gets rejected because he is too proud to admit his love or of the type of very fast love!
And well it wasn't boring at all,like I said although it had many volumes it was natural so your friends judged it badly there are cases of other pretty good mangas with gay ideas that are worse,I mean like i said earlier those with them dressing as girls is still a little bit unnatural!

I quite adored this enjoyable manga.

However, a plot summary doesn't do it justice. It is so far out there that it can really mess with some people's suspension of disbelief. Or at least it does if they don't give it a chance.

The plot summary makes it sound silly and shallow, when in reality the manga carries with it quite a bit of depth. Properly summing it up is a difficult task if you don't want to spoil it in anyway.

My favorite character is definitely Mizuki, that or Yuujirou. Honorable mention goes to Nanba-sempai and that Karate fellow that is head of the sports dorm. Sano isn't bad, but his personality just isn't ultra appealing to me.

This is the one manga series i actually completed collecting as in buying every volume and waited for them i refused to read the scanlations ;( ). So worth it thought i Sano and Mizuki all the minor characters were lovable too

Hanakimi is number two in my favorite manga shoujo list ^_^ (number one is Fruits Basket). I loved the history (fake yaoi...very good thinking!!) and the characters are so captivating
I liked the author developed the romance of the others character too ^^

I enjoyed it when I read it but it's not one of my favorites (I don't know why). My fave characters are Umeda and Sano, they are super hot and sexy!!

Great series, could have cut some volumes but still highly enjoyed it! I rejoiced when the ending was redone, and loved the special. A very good read. Like everyone else my favourite character was also Umeda XD

I love Izumi Sano

Hana Kimi can be extremely addictive. I read the entire thing (all 23 volumes) in one sitting. That just proves how addictive it is. >.<. Still cannot believe I did that. Afterwards, my eyes were red all day. I wish I can collect it. I want to. But sadly, I'm poor. So sometimes, I go to the bookstore and just stare at the nice, complete collection that they have (and dream of one day when I'll get a job and become rich, LOL). I think what makes it successful, is the great character designs and character developments throughout. The plot was pretty straight forward, and there weren't a lot of twists. But you really get attached to the characters.

Hana Kimi was a little like Ouran High and maybe it wasn't the same story but I think if you like hana kimi ya should take a look at ouran too:3

Hana kimi is so nice and beautiful...one of the few mangas out there that really make you emotional...a must read
