How many episodes is perfect?

Me, I like longer animes. Not infinite like One Piece or Naruto, but somewhere in between of FullMetal Alchemist (51?) and Cardcaptor Sakura (70) is perfect in my opinion.
The reason being, 26 is too short to get a full grip on a complex story, and 90+ means lots of filler.

I personally like 26 episode animes.
Sure the longer ones are nice, but when you really can't connect to it or when the plot styles change midway i can't force myself to watch another 20+ movies. With a 13, its too short for me because if you really get into the series, 13 is juuuuust enough to get past a good plot. After that you're sort of left wanting more but since the series is only 13 episodes, you're stuck having to wait for either a sequel, movie, or second season. With 26, you can get two plots in and that makes me happy enough.
The only really long series that i got into was like Ranma ½ and Doraemon. Old school ftw

anime's have to be really good to be 200+ but i don't personally like 26 episode anime's i feel like they rush the ending and i want more hehehe =P

Well, some animes can tell the whole story in just 26 episodes and some can do it in 13. But I personally prefer the former more then the latter. 50ish episode animes usually come out pretty good. Some examples are Blood+, Fullmetal Alchemist, Eureka 7. The more amount of time is spent on an anime, the more deeper we can feel for the characters. Then again, 100+ animes are going too far. I liked DBZ, but 10 episodes to cover the 5 min Freeza fight is just too much.

Depends on the story. Some stories need many episodes to have it all. But some need shorter ones.Like naruto, it began to get boring because it was about the same all the time. But for the anime Cheeky Angel, 50 was just to short. I was really disappointed and also still got so many questions.
I dislike it when animes are over 26 episodes long since they often tend to lose their story when they are longer. I prefer short animes because often the story is told in a better way when a anime is short because then they don´t have any time for adding alot of stuff that dosen´t really have anything to do with the story.
Well... i prefer the ones that are over 26 Episodes but dont exceed 50 eps... like death note. nice storytelling, edited superbly and no fillers :)

Depends on the anime. I mean, I feel the 13 episode anime are just too short to properly convey the story. 26 is a good number, though some anime feel like they could expand into longer. Though, truth be told, all the long anime I've watched (the ones going over 26 episodes) tend to at least struggle to maintain a solid interest throughout, possibly because they're trying too hard to fill up the space.
I tend to gravitate more towards anime within 26-51 episodes with, hoping, a conclusion movie and several other movies within the series timeframe.
However, I don't tend to mind series that span more than 51 if the plot is impelling and well-thought out with supportive memorable characters and additonal if needed. Even the fillers must have some relevance atleast.
What's best anime over 51 episodes is the possibility of further expansion of plot, side-stories, character development and introducing new faces to the scene. Though it's hard to pull off sometimes because of length and stretching things too long. A 51 series is more compressed, yet allows such expansion without being diluted too much.
Movies are also almost essential. The addition of a theatrical flick just makes the series...better.

I like my episodes in the 20-30 region.
I can see it going up to 50-60, but then it starts getting into fillers with most shows. I think 26 episodes are enough to leave everyone happy.

I like series with less than or around 30 episodes. 40+ and more get a lil long unless the series is really good like bleach and naruto. too short for me would be FLCL only 6 episodes but they were one of the best anime series to me. one piece is at like 300+, wtf i dont even remember the storyline anymore something about pirates and fruit

FLCL wouldn't be as good if it was 51 episodes, and FMA wouldn't be as good if it was only 6. It depends on how long the series was meant to be :/

Around 26 episodes is kinda my standard. Depending on the show, 26 is a really good number. Not to little (13) and not to many (50). Shows like Bleach and Naruto tho, really do go best with 100+ because of constant and newly developing plot lines, but shows like Cowboy Bebop and Code Geass are good because they either leave you satisfied and/or will start up a highly wanted 2nd season with another set of episodes.
