But i think some people think its boring because for a large percentage of the time, there is really not much happening besides passing back and forth. Of course theres a lot of excitement when a goal is scored, but some people don't really like having to watch about 90 minutes of soccer to see 2-3 goals throughout that time.

Its just that its really hard to score because theres always defenders around and such
That didnt make it look exciting at all, just showed how much the europeans love their soccer.
I find soccer boring because there are WAAY too many players, make it a 4 on 4, and that would be something worth to see (of course the playing area would have to be smaller too).

Soccer is very very very very very boring! as pokute said make the field shorter and a few less players.
This is yet again an Introvert/Extrovert thing.
Extroverts get absorbed in the atmosphere of what everyone around them is feeling, the crowd is going wild over this soccer game, a good goal was scored, likely the winning one and because attention is focused outwardly, all these people are excited, you get that same feeling as well.
Then the Introverts who are inwardly focused see nothing about it to get excited about. Not saying all, there are plenty of Introverts who like soccer and get into it, but an introvert has an opinion that isn't easily shaken by those outside of their little world.
I'm an introvert, I don't see much excitement in watching sport in general and dreadfully hate watching soccer most of all. I love playing it and get pumped doing that, including soccer which is one of my favourite to play.
The thing is it's nothing that gets me a buzz specifically, trying to prove something to those who "don't think soccer is exciting" in general is redundent, but a lot of these people are likely introverts in the first place since they don't get into the group mentality of sport watching and such, this makes it even MORE redundent to argue the matter.

I think a major reason that sports fans in the USA don't appreciate soccer is not primarily for being a major defensive game if both teams are equal strength. The fact that diving to trick the referees into giving the opposition cards or fouls is reason is viewed as virtual cheating. We prefer sports where there is no intent to try to trick the referee, and as a result, while we acknowledge the popularity of soccer, it's not as much a moneymaker like the other sports we have.
However, as a soccer fan, I love soccer, and you can hear the energy of a crowd rise when their team scores a crucial goal. And the chants and songs...can't forget about that. I'm an Los Angeles Galaxy fan, and I'm really excited about our chance to defend our Dewar Trophy (US Open Cup) on the 27th in Chicago against the Fire. Soccer's a sport that is about heart, too, and my team has it.

Ya i Total agree Soccer is totally boring... though my dad love it to heaven and hell... <sigh> i dont c anything tat exciting... ya sure its exciting when you c and hear about one team scoring point and how they done it and so on but inbetween..... its another story lol
Now if we talking about Soccer movie... those that people created... not real and all we c alot of action and unbelievable stunt... now those i can sit and watch for hours... kinda like watching drift from initial D... if we c it really life tat cool but real life that doesnt happen often...
An example of an good action movie soccer would be teh Chinese Kung-Fu Soccer... where shaolin martial are employing their Skill for soccer uses ^^

I don't follow soccer, but how can anyone say that it is boring?!? I watched some of the soccer world cup and it was really fun and exciting, of course it helped that my country made it in for once ^_^. It's a really fun and exciting sports to play as well!

I totally agree with this point.Even though I follow it up and play it for a huge club,Soccer is not boring.Playing it is even more fun,Just scoring a shot with over 6 to 7 defenders is like a joyful moment you can have with your team.If a person does not like to watch the Games go and try playing and then see if you like it,then if you do,you will see how the exciting watching the game is cause you will know how the player's feel.
