Optimism, Realism, or Passim?
2 years 2 weeks ago
I am more of a realist.
It's good to have a fair amount of all, I guess. But i suppose realism and passim are the most useful and optimism is the least. Optimism doesn't do anything but make you feel better while realism keeps you from doing stupid things. Passim drives you forward... but i find that people with a lot of passim are way too stubborn. >.<

Pessimism doesn't do anything either... you end up thinking "I'll just lose, so why even bother?" You give up before you even try.
Pessimism is crap in my opinion, (I would know, I used to be pessimistic... EXTREMELY pessimistic.
ScarletLetterSeems like no one is up for an intelligent conversation. Eh? xP
Intelligent conversation? Perhaps you ought to look up the meaning of the word "Passim".
I'm a realist. So I prefer realists as well, pessimists are okay with me but I don't really like optimists. I have a few friends that are real optimist and they rarely solve their problems saying that everything will be fine. I hate that.

I think it's the best to be a realist xD

A pessimist, an optimist and a realist are walking the tunnel. Suddenly they all see a light. The pessimist sees the end of life, the optimist sees the exit and the realist see a train coming.

I hope for the best but am aware of the reality. So I suppose I'm a realist.
I'm rather all types.
That's what certain people like about me, and what others dislike.
I'm a flat realist. I'm down to earth, know how things work and try to get others to understand that. I know a great deal, but act like a fool pretty much all the time. I talk in the sense of the here and now, not in the past or in the future. I'm also very blunt and to the point; I don't sugar coat things. That's one of the things people dislike about me. The fact that I'm truthful and to the point disturbs some.
I'm an optimist when it comes to other people. I encourage them, give them support and try to do anything I can to help out.
I'm a pessimist when it comes to myself. I take after my father, but he is far more pessimistic than I'll ever be. I can't really help it, it's in my nature.
Anyone else at least know what I'm talking about?

I think it's good to be a realist and an optimist. If your all about being logical and realism, then you will never really set goals for yourself, or have hope for things to be better. If you're to much an optimist you lose track of what reality is and what is truly important. But if you combine both it is generally a good outcome.
Either way, the best combination is all three of them.
You have to know what you want and how to reach it, and also have a goal or steps to take (realism).
You have to be positive about things and act accordingly to the situation (optimism).
You also have to expect set backs and know how to deal with it. Being purely positive will lead some things astray (pessimism).

I choose realism, i want to keep my head and brain clear
I personally am quite pragmatic (that's realistic for the less intelligent among you XD) but reality is negative, so I suppose that makes me a pessimist.
Well I am mostly a realist... But from time to time I am just all like optimist, and when I am in bad mood I am a pessimist ^_^ lol.
I think that realist stance is better than any other, because it's in the middle, between pessimism and optimism.
Well sometimes I think that we humans are the smartes and overally best creatures in universe, in the Space! I'm quite an optimist sometimes lol ^_^

ScarletLetterNot all of those sursprise are nice ones.
Yes, but you'll always be ready whatever happens :-)
Realism and pessimism are often interchangable if you think about it. I guess I'd generally go with realism. Don't expect the best, but don't go looking for the worst either. It's a good mix of both realities. So to speak.
I'm rather a realist,... I have the tendency to think, that others are better than me

I agree with him, and I think most of us are like this, but... humans can become anything, but since it's some kind of individual issue, I'd rather not tell others about my current attitude and just do what I have to do.
