Do clones have souls?
During our social studies class, we were talking about the origin of human beings. We were studying Charles Darwin's theories. My teacher then told us about her experience before. She kept thinking if clones had souls. She couldn't get it out of her head and now I can't get it out of my mind too. She asked the nun in their school and the sister said "believe in the mystery of creation" but still it makes me think you know. I don't really know but after reading some of your answers I now believe that a clone has a soul. What about you?

Its all matter of opinion for me i beleive just about every thing has a soul regardless of it's origins exept for like a tooth brush or something but as in clones haveing souls i beleive they do
Well, clones are practically another you though they are not actually you. Unlike popular belief, clones are not your other self, they are just another live form albeit thay have the same genetic code as you do. So, like every other thing that lives, it has it's own soul. At least that's what the logic says. or maybe it's what I said. Oh well, I believe in souls and a soul is a soul, a soul cannot be 2 souls, get it? So Clones are not you and they have their own soul. Okay??
And if a clone of you had the same soul wouldnt your memories be crossed between both bodies wouldnt they since you share the same soul.

Yes, so a clone has it's own soul which means trying to find an unending life with cloning is simply stupid
Sooner or later though someone will figure out how to convert are memories in computer data and beable to re upload are memories into a clone of ours in couple hundred yrs though maybe but even then though it isnt the same soul just someone who has your memories.
Hmm.. Well technically speaking, a clone is just another person, but with the same DNA profile. Combining with believes, it would be another soul, it just looks the same. And to be honest I don't think itll ever be possible to drive souls to another body, because we simply don't know what a soul is, well, technically we don't.
In the end, a soul might just be an illusion created by our own mind. But I seriously hope it's not :D

I guess it depends on how it's been cloned..
if it's been biologically cloned, i.e. replacing the core of a cell with another core etc. of course the clone with have a soul and mind of it's own. it's a biological copy, but the rest(mind, soul, personality, etc) is defined by the environment it is raised in.

Clones definetly have souls. After all they are human beings. They are twins of the person that he or she was cloned by. A cloned cat or dog, however does not have a soul. Because cats and dogs alreadly don't have souls, so a cloned one would not be any different.
Of course clones have souls! Every living thing on this world have a soul.
If we even have a soul then it'd be something that we get.
Like our character.
Like our character.
That's like asking if twins have souls, of course they do...
Although that is if you believe in that sort of thing.

Before we can answer this, we must ask ourselves one question. "What is a soul?"
Even though I don't know the answer, I will base my answer to your question on what I've learned about the soul.
Of course clones have souls. But I'd have to say it has the same soul as the living being it came from. They are one of the same, so what makes it that they don't have the same soul.

Although the practice of cloning organisms has been widespread for several thousands of years in the form of horticultural cloning, the recent technological advancements that have allowed for cloning of animals (and potentially humans) have been highly controversial. Some believe[citation needed] it is unethical to use a human clone to save the life of another. Others have countered that people who exist today and have interpersonal relationships and personal histories should take precedence over never-conscious life at any stage of developmental maturity. The Catholic Church and various traditionalist religious groups oppose all forms of cloning, on the grounds that life begins at conception. Conversely, Judaism does not equate life with conception and, though some question the wisdom of cloning, Orthodox rabbis generally find no firm reason in Jewish law and ethics to object to cloning.[9] From the standpoint of classical liberalism, concerns also exist regarding the protection of the identity of the individual and the right to protect one's genetic identity.- Wikapedia
The social implications of an artificial human production scheme were famously explored in the novel Brave New World and also in the movie The Island. These fictional works explore the prejudices that could develop against clones with respect to a kind of slavery or caste system.-wikapedia

I believe that each individual defineds a soul differently and their for there is no exact answer to this question as it depends on ones owns beliefs. I define something as having a soul when it is able to distinguish right from wrong and has emotion.
