This wall had three main inspirations. First was the series of GSD itself. It's one of my favourite series ever, and I just got Vol. 3 of the DVD. And I really enjoyed it. I like Athrun more and more every episode! Lol. So then I started looking around for Athrun scans that I found interesting. I found this one on MT, and had never seen it before. But I couldn't figure out what to do with it so I put it off. Then one night I was browsing through the wallpapers I had saved because I wanted to change my desktop (I swear I change it every few hours...there are so many nice walls!) and I came across this one by the amazing waller Kalico. Not only was it perfect for what I wanted for my desktop at the time, but I loved the whole "Athrun behind a wall" idea and thought it might also work with the scan I got. So I tried it out, and it came out as this wallpaper! (Hope you don't mind Kalico! ^_^)
Okay, now getting to how this wall was made...extracted Athrun, did some scan cleaning. Then I made the wall with textures and the pen, burn, and dodge tools. (Added some thin cracks for effect). Then I did the ground, which is just made by brushes and the burn and dodge tool. Then I chose a colour for the sky (which changed about 50 times throughout the making of this wall).
Then I looked for pics of Gundams. I wanted it to look like a scene leading up to a fight, so I found two Gundam scans here at AP that looked like they were ready to attack. Now NOTE: I don't know whose Gundam's these are in the series! I was never good at keeping track of which is which, they all look so similar. So sorry if the ones I used wouldn't make sense in the series. I changed their colour's just in case. Then I had fun creating the "attacks" of the Gundams. They were made with just a few glowy abstract brushes. Then I did the moon and clouds, the shadows, some fog, and other things.
The text is simple, and I called it Midnight Saviour because the Vol. 3 DVD ended with Athrun taking off in the Saviour. Oh, and I LOVE grunge textures, so that is definetely staying!
I wanted so badly to put Cagalli in this wall! But there was really no room for her.
This wall took about 6 hours to make altogether, and used 36 layers total.
Thanks to Mayang.com for textures!
Hope you like this wall and that it gets accepted! Comments and faves are appreciated ^_^.
[EDIT] Just to clear things up, I didn't mean that I put the Saviour in the wall. I didn't. ATHRUN is the saviour!

Si

where is the saviour?
