As an animation, Bakemonogatari has a simple, clean art style. But the guest illustrations for the series are anything but simple! So, it's great to see that °Tens took on a more complex illustration and made it his own with vector gradients so fine at points it more resembles painting that vectoring. Do have a look at this beautiful wallpaper!

I honest to goodness had no idea what i was doing in this wallpaper. I dont think its up to par at all but it was incredibly fun to make.

I made use of the glowing edges tool, one that is considered amateur in most ways it is used...

Oh well. It kind of sucks I think...

Not much to say about this wall save for its theraputic nature as I did everything completely on impulse and utterly unplanned and I felt better about life after just mashing most of the photoshop shortcuts on my keyboard to my pleasure.

Edit: Ok, in the light that people actually LIKE this piece (you crazies! :P ) I should probably list the stock and brushes used to make this.

Stock form sxc.hu, just search for 'matrix' and brushes from the deviantart tech section. :)

i just don't like as much the outlines of the girl... they're not as solid..and seem ..liquidy?o.o'
i like short cuts too =3...but the difference between mac and windows messes me up @~-J@

Excellent. One of the only times "glowing edges" actually seemed to work out in a useful way. The crisp lines in the background mixed with the haziness of the girl really give this a "in the digital world" type of feel and provides the needed depth to tie her in with the rest of the background. The flares/sparkles (another tool considered "amateur") really work here as well to help tie things together. Exceptional.
The only item I see that could possibly be a detractor are her buttons: they seem overly bright compared to the rest of the character and even match in brightness the flares/sparkles. That's such a minor thing though. A seriously well done wall. Excellent work.

I love the way you created the background and vectored your scan to look alike with that look of technology. it also give the character a look of shock, which is totally unlike the scan you used. i like how that effect worked out!

A really cool idea, love the concept of the digital stuff.. though... i must say that
you overdid it on her eyes.. well.. i mean its supposed to be digital.. *shrugs
and also, her mouths looks kind of odd =P it'll be better if you alter it a little.
other than that, i love the background and the whole concept~ good job!
