Hello, once again. It has been a while.
I'll start off with stats. Hopefully those who know me will recognize this grunge-abstract style of walling. The background is made from brushes with the addition of some lightning stock. I tried to have it all exude power and determination. The "rough" aspect of the wall represents struggle. 50 layers, about 5 hours total.
This wall has a lot of meaning for me. Starting next year, I'll be a first grade teacher. The decision to go into this field was based on a classroom experience I had through my university. Originally I was a Zoology major and went in to teach a lesson on Peregrine Falcons. It was a lot of fun for me and the kids loved it and continually asked if I would return. Yes, I told them, hopefully one day, and perhaps with more animals and a field trip to boot! Well, I returned, but this time as a teacher. I'm a 21 year old male. Men in elementary classrooms is at an all-time low. The fear of being labeled a pedophile and the pursuit of "bread-winner" status is the culprit. This places a powerful restraint on the potential of school systems worldwide. I'm fighting against these social stigmas because I love what I'm doing. The internal rewards far exceed any monetary payments I could receive.
I also love Gurren Lagann. It's an amazing series and the struggle the characters go through and their personal devotion to their cause is beyond words. So, this is a dedication to their struggle as well as mine. Raise your glasses to teachers and wish me luck in my journey ahead.
