-__-' *sigh of relief* This wallpaper is finally done!! I swear this one has felt like forever. But I'm glad~ Not only about it being finished, but about how it turned out. ^_^ I'm very proud of myself. This was my first time walling fully with my tablet and just painting...just brushwork, no pen tool at all. Also, it's probably one of my hardest wallpapers I've ever done. ^^; Since...I really didn't have much to go by. I fell in love with this scan, and I knew I wanted to wall it somehow...and definitely by painting. Well, I didn't think it would be so tough! But I had to totally recreate her room. So her room *waves hands around it* just all came from my mind. ^^; I didn't use any other refs other than that original scan.
Yes, I know. My style is very different from the original (artist is Kumichi Yoshizuki! forgot to put that on the wall)...I wanted to make it similar--all nice and soft, very watercolor-y, but I failed, so I went with MY style. When I draw on paper, I'm very sketchy. That's just my style, and I wanted to bring that to this wall. :) So I made Kayoko darker, sketchier, sexier than in the original~ So I tried to keep it sketchy but also refine it to not make it look MESSY. I hope that I accomplished that. ^^;; I think I did for the most part. Umm...this wall took me a long time. XD I worked everyday between 10 minutes to 2 hours or something for the past month on it, lol, and it was little by little. Some days I just did one little thing for that whole day...like that painting or just the plant. I took screenshots along the way, so here's some sort of progress thing...

And then as you can see, I added a warm gradient on top. I liked the original colors, but they were too light...too cool. I needed something warmer. XD I think the hardest part was the bed, and I liked painting Kayoko the best~ I know I have issues with lighting and shadows...so please bear with me. This was very hard!! THANKS. Ok, ok, I think I'm done ranting on this now!! I hope you like it! Thanks for all the support. I know several of you that happened across my journal with my WIP in it were constantly wanting me to finish it, so I finally did. Arigatou!
edit: I got rid of that unsightly (and oddly out of place) dark outline on her arm, and I also lightened her skin color some. :) Thanks for the comments!

I haven't been around lately so my apologies for the lateness. Your style in art is always so refreshing and unique, I'm truly fascinated by your work every time that I see it and this wallpaper is no exception. Words can’t even describe how adorn and strangely fabulous this is. I'm not too fond of sketches because the lines... depending on the artist can be too messy and it usually looks like a rough draft of something that you will eventually complete. But I truly do like this elaborate sketchy wallpaper, and I think the reason for this is the painting. You really painted it well and enhanced the the sunlight perfectly and it emphasizes the young ladies beauty all the more. I can definitely sense the early daybreak in that room. Nice work!
