Um, so this is for a challenge/contest on theOtaku.com. I didn't join it because of "OMG, a contest! I want to enter and WIN." I joined because it was all about being inspired, and the original scan chosen for the contest totally inspired me. Well, it did at first, that's for sure! I was like "bishie...smexy...sexy, must wall!" Lol, and so I did. I had fun at first, but then my level of fun deteriorated as I got closer to the bg...cause, in case you can't tell, it's VERY different (pretty different) from the original. :/ I was going to keep it closer to the original, and just be simplistic...with a white bg and the colors all the same, but where's the challenge in that? Exactly. >>

Well, first I tilted the scan, to make him looking straight-on, instead of up...and I wasn't even going to give him a hand, believe it or not. Haha. I don't like drawing and vectoring hands, but I decided the wall needed it desperately. :/ It wouldn't have been complete! Uh, so yeah. This was all vectoring and painting with my tablet. I vectored the outlines and base colors, and then painted everything else. I added more butterflies...found some pics on google, then vectored them black, and I only painted some (I painted them my own way, so sorry if they don't look good! I made up the colors!). I have a reason for that!! So don't be all like, "Why on earth didn't you color those other butterflies?" I'm not familiar with this smexy hunk o' man or what his story is, so I made up my own:
So that's the explanation for the butterflies. Um, I had fun painting his tattoos A LOT. I added a lot of my own, changed some, did different colors, stuff like that. :) I had a tough time painting his hair, but all in all, I think that worked out. Smexy bishie hair.
favorite part = his lips They're very kissable.
Uh...as I said, the bg was the hardest part for me. I didn't know what to do! T__T And so I ended up with some type of field scene. I used brushes from dA, vectored some vines and things...pained over them. :/ So yeah. Then it was still missing something (it looked way too empty), and so I tried a texture, which really did help. Sorry if you don't like textures, but TRUST ME, it looks way better this way. That's why I'm being a piggy and keeping the textureless from your eyes...it's that bad. Fine, here's textureless:

edit: Added some "depth" to the butterflies...with some highlights. :/ Sorry if it looks retarded. >> As for the grass, I'm sick of it, lol, so I just changed the color of the grass in front to a darker green/blue instead of the brighter green. I hope that's good for now!

No doubt that your vectoring skills its getting better and better, i really like the butterfly, and im glad you add a hand, cos it will look strange without it.
