This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.

While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.

This could take forever..damn...and it's still kinda unfinished. I couldn't execute all my ideas for this wall.
the re-cging and cleaning was a serious pain though. this must be second scan i ve worked on so many hours...first was my lain wall I guess.
well.;I loved the feeling of this scan somehow...I can smell the adrenaline in this XD
soo here you go...A reddish wall with the awesomeness=Jo... I didn't want to make a scenery down the cliff...and probably I wouldn't be able to do it XD
it's more like a destroyed bridge or something...I guess...but whatever.
I still have no idea what would it be like if I tried. so grunge brushes helped me as always.
anyways... 7 hours of work with this one (and yess; still unfinished)
comments are appriciated as always; hope you like it...

edit: ahh yeah...like kaliko said...think the scenery as a lava flowing or something; for now XD. I ll try somethings a little more witht his one. thanks for the suggestions people...

UPDATE: o.k...this time it really looks like flowing lava. thanks to certain kalico and people for the suggestions. much appriciated...it's 12:38 and I am done for today *yawns* (FULL-VIEW please)

It looks like she has rabbit ears.. I see why you did it like that, but it would look nicer with some work making it look like a scarf blowing in the wind. The sign is a nice touch, but yeah, you kinda need something where the road drops off. Some broken pipes, I beams, and wires would look nice.

Very nice, I especially like the perspective of the character. Very intersting sign sticking out in the corner... though it's very distracting and you could have used some more designs and more objects in the back to make a theme. And the ears...are...well they should be taken out

Dang nice work on re-cging the scan. i like the overall feel of this wall, like the character is ready to take on some action. hm and i love the background. the red and orange colors blend good and the grunge effects look great. wonderful job ^^

I love the earth texture and how that dead end thing is placed XD great composition and colors~ scan blends in perfectly
however I dont like the top-left part of the wall, the texture there is much too sharp and "small" to match the rest of the wall in my opinion...

It's a pretty cool concept, but I think you could do a lot more with it. Try adding some textures and scenery, try to make that big orange area on top somewhat interesting. Also, you might want to take the glow off Jo and cut down on the saturation overall, it's a bit over the top.

My gripe is gonna be the cliff.
down below it.
before i actually read your description, i thought it was lava on a cliff coming at her.
the reaosn is because the color is so bright hat th ehuman eye automatically assumes it's closest to the front (but since jo overlaps it, it sets it back a bit making it seem behind her but in front of the cliff)
first, i would darken it, and add a lot of contrast. turning it into water would really help. since water is dark, it'll set it back, and it'll aiso make sense in the scene.
next is the dead end sign. i think you would have been better off with a stock photo as opposed to creating it from scratch. it feels kind of weird and out of place. i'd change it, or remove it completely. the cliff itself is pretty nice. but i don't get thepoint of the big black bold edge. the prespective is pretty much dead on though, so props on that. that tends to be where people fail the most.
i hop syou'll concider going back and fixing it, because it could look really hot with a few adjustments.

Nice job with the textures and the bold colors. It looks nice! but for some reason, the wall seems empty in the middle. maybe it's because the character is so far to one side... I dunno.

New BakuTen wallpapers are always good news, this series deserves more than it gets. This is quite a good wallpaper, but the colours don't suit my current XP Theme, but that isn't your fault. Good all round wallpaper, and good luck with any future ones you make. And.. oh.. bunny ears, eh, people? Get your eyes tested. Now.

Dead end huh? the orange substance seems trying to consume the character...but those eyes do not seem to yield to it... hot!
the bg is nice, i like the cracks on the road, but the sign seems out of place and i m not really fond of the font (i think a bolder font will highlight your theme more, it gives a stronger feeling of "dead end", if you get wat i mean) but i reallyreally like the footprint on the sign, i find very meaningful, like-- no way! this isn't a dead end, i won't let it be, *kicks and stomps*, that kind of feel.
anyway. nice work!
