When I saw this girl she almost looked like a secret agent DJ. As if she was going to take that record off the turntable and throw it at a badguy. I decided that the focus was going to be the records. I made the large record first and then copied and pasted the smaller ones, using free transform to angle them to be flatter. I only put the label on the large record as I thought it would distract from the wall. I also wanted to give the wall a grungier feel to it so I added a lot of grunge brushes to it, the dots and distortion. The background is pretty simple, I found music and overlayed them on a cloud render. It is a dark red / blue cloud with a red layer overlayed. The orange / green spots are a seperate layer that is masked to only appear in a couple places to brighten up the background to match the vibrant character. To prevent her from just "floating" in the background someone suggested I have her standing on a record and I think it turned out well.
