Yay! I finally found out the proper way of extracting a scan . I know it's not perfect, but I'm learning. Pen Tool FTW !

The Works :
-Program Used : Adobe Photoshop CS3
-Brushes : DeviantArt
-Texture(s) : CG-Textures.com
-Font(s) : DaFont
-Time : 2:30 hrs + 1 hour extracting (Yesterday)
-Scan : AnimePaper.net
-Stock Image : None, this time
-Character : Revy (Black Lagoon)
-Date : 10-11.09.2008

P.S. : Yesterday, Romania beat the Faroe Islands 1-0. Wooo!...NOT!

Very bright and colorful! Indeed it is~ And I love Revy in that Chinese dress...she's so cool! But, hmm, it just doesn't seem to match. I don't think Revy and super bright abstract retro look go well together. I think what bothers me most is the rainbow stroke outside of the scan. [which you extracted well!!] I think maybe if you colorized Revy it would be better...or make her monochromatic. Have her compliment the colors of the background more. :3 Maybe that'd be better? But hey, I'm no expert! This is still a really cool and fun wallpaper~ Great job!

The background is good ^^ but and the extraction is not bad, i just think the outlines over Revy doesnt look quite good cause Revy has different colors and somehow doesnt combine.
but you did a nice work! Keep it up!

I love the bright colors.
Im not too sure about the rainbow outlines of the scan though. Doesnt seem to fit.

I'm known for saying a Black Lagoon wall is a good wall, but I'm also known for being extra critical about BL walls. So don't be upset by what I'm gonna type now, it's just a personal thing of me.
To come straight to business: I don't like your wall. I hate bright colors, but more importantly: they don't fit to Black Lagoon. I see you did try to create a grungy style around it, which is better, but well, the colors and the outlines just f*** things up. Also the text is kinda ridiculous.

To cheer you up a little: I'm not saying your wall is bad (in fact it isn't), it's just a bad BL wall, because it doesn't have anything to do with BL besides having quotes and Revy in it. And that just sucks.

That's why i tried changing things a little. The majority (if not all) the Black Lagoon walls are dark/gloomy. It's like a stereotype, when you make a BL wall, it should be black and sober.(The same thing with Higurashi or Elfen Lied), so I tried making it a bit different than the rest, this time. :)

But still i agree with GoldenApe, i'm a huge black lagoon fan and the wall though nice doesn't represent anything about black lagoon, in other words it's great as a wallpaper but f**ked up as a black lagoon wall
