Blame was one of my immediate favourites both for the surreal story and the bleak nature of the drawings, I hope this does it the appropriate justice.
As some-one from Session Zero recommended me to explain how I did this:
The idea I had in mind for the wallpaper didn't require any extraction, the edges of the scan had an almost black uniform edge, I increased the contrast through levels (always use either levels or curves) to make it perfect black and then put it on top of a black background. The ambient, gloomy light-fall was made via careful adjustment layers, up to twelve I think with careful masking to achieve that glowing effect, you effectively make a folder with a lot of adjustment layers and give it a mask and then you paint the glowing as you paint the mask effectively. The final ambience was made by getting a colour range selection over the entire image and using that as the mask (edited) of another set of adjustment layers and giving it a motion blur, again within a set of masks to gain that 'scan line' effect. As the elaborate lightening more or less is the whole idea for the wallpaper. It's made from a scan from this site to be found here.
Also, Killy is fucking sexy.
