Before I begin, I want to express my thanks for all the great support I've recieved from my fellow AP members in Session Zero. I don't think my first wallpaper would have been this good without the helpful advice of my fellow community members.
Before this first attempt at wallpaper creation, I have been using photoshop for quite some time. I use to think that I knew how to use photoshop to it's fullest extent. Boy, was I wrong. During the making of this wallpaper, I realized that I wasn't even using half of the program's power and techniques. This has been a wonderfull learning experience and I plan on making more wallpapers, as well as, learning new and imaginative way to apply the techniques that I never really used all that much.
In a nutshell, this wallpaper is my tribute to Dokuro-chan's inner struggle as an angel and an individual. When I originally planned this wallpaper, I was going to create something that (now that I think about it) was going to look way too simple when compared to what I have here. I would have been totally embarrased if I had uploaded any of my five earlier version. With that said, I am very proud to present this final version to all of you.
This wallpaper took me about four days to create, due to the fact that I was working on it little by little and also becuase I was spending a good portion of my time on the session zero forums, having other people critic my work in progress. After all that, I'm really happy with the results and I hope you like it as well. ^_^
There are two things about my wallpaper that I am especially proud of. The light and shadow effect on the main scan took a bit of work, but it was worth it. I want everyone to notice how the light from the upper left corner illuminates her head, as well as, how the shadows darken her back giving her a sinister edge. The other aspect of this wallpaper I am proud of is the small addition of the blood splatter on her excalibog (Dokuro-chan's spiked bat).
I wished I could have done more to overall look of the wallpaper, but everything I did (like vectoring the scan) just didn't fit well in my eyes. I do plan on using the vectoring technique on my next project. Aside from that, I'm happy to have you all see the fruit of my labor. Thanks again to everyone in session zero for being honest with me. This wallpaper is my gift to you all.
