As an animation, Bakemonogatari has a simple, clean art style. But the guest illustrations for the series are anything but simple! So, it's great to see that °Tens took on a more complex illustration and made it his own with vector gradients so fine at points it more resembles painting that vectoring. UUGGHH! Well after the past few walls that I have submited I finally decided to go back to my most favorite style of all Digital painting :D. And I really like how this one has turned out so far. I really wanted to ephasise the train in this one because the 1st episode really ephasizes the delayed visit in Oukashou.

EDIT: Thank you all who gave your opinions. I made some minor adjustments to everything. I added some more visibility of the ground and highlights, made a it a little more lighter added subtle details to the train and I added some poles BUT took them out again lol. 2nd and 3rd are just re-posts cuz the darn fullview got messed up :-(

I freakin love this. its dark and beautiful. really makes me think I should start watching the anime.
the only thing on my wishlist for this wall was that the train was a bit bigger, but otherwise, it's loverly sir, so a fav from me!

As an art work, it's impressive. As a wall though, I'm not too sure. It look superb, but it's a bit lacking in personality. It feels like so much more could have been put into it. The mood of the scene itself is great, but with all the emptiness you could have put in some text to help things out, or added some more detail into the train since it's the focal point of the wall.

Don't get me wrong, I really like this wall. The painting technique you use is brilliant, and it shows. The lighting effects are spot-on, and the snow is well made. But this wall is missing the little bit that makes it stand out. Anyways, I just wanted to give my two cents worth because I feel that this could have been much more focused. Overall, +fav for a nicely made wall.

I see what some of the others mean when they say, "trembly" or jagged. There are a few places that could be smoothed out. However I like the jagged edges around the train track. I think that is much more realistic, it makes them look as though they are vibrating. Overall I think you did a very good job on this wall.

I would say that the thumbnail don't show the real beauty of the wall. When I first see it, I'm a bit confuse ^^; What's that shiny little thing? And when I full view it, it's really nice ^^ Find a new desktop. Simple and dark, covered in a nice and elegant beauty ^^

Nothing that I can think of complaining about this time. Personally, I would welcome some text (perhaps including the series name), but you would have to be careful if you tried. ;)

I almost want to go watch this 'Byousoku 5 Centimeter' now... if only finals were not coming up. :(
