Believe it or not, but I actually started this wallpaper...in October o.O How about the reasons of this large gap of time between the beginning and my posting...?
Well, before explaining, first : I made this wall starting from the splash page of chapter 132 of Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle, that you can see here : http://null4.free.fr/fia/trc_ch132.jpg
I vectored this B&W scan and, like always, making the black outlines was tiring but...it was nothing compared to what came afterward : the thing is, my first idea was to make a gray-scaled wall with only the blue eye colored...and I did it : but I didn't like the result...So I was back to the beginning and *obviously* decided to make a full colored version; and one BIG problem raised : the glass... How was I supposed to make a glass effect that would not look too bad, seeing how more then half of the wall is covered by broken pieces...? I figured it out, and that's when I felt very discouraged and ended up taking a 3 weeks break, since the 'solution' I found to make this glass effect was to actually use 5 layers for EACH piece of glass, and then start with playing with gradients, colors, fill, opacity, layers orders, filters, masks...etc...So the first thought that eventually came to my mind was "no way in hell I'm ever doing that!"...Well...I ended up doing, it, SLOWLY, at my own pace, and ended up with a wall with few hundreds of layers ^^;;
Aaanndd...well, few others stuffs :
1-I love his blue eye :) ;
2-since the shards were superposed ones over others, I started erasing the black outlines of the ones situated the most bellow variating the opacity of the eraser tool, though I don't know if you can see it really clearly;
3-Syaoran ghostly looks : I purposely gave him very fair skin and accentuated it even more with darkest hair color then usual, because with the usual colors...well...he looked FAR too healthy at my taste ^^;; ;
4-i used the burn tool to give him painful looking scars on his skin (face, hand, neck) to show clearly he was hurt badly, and also added a cross shaped scar in his hand (Kamui *wink*);
5-patterns were used for his hair and clothes;
6-i wanted to add highlights to the shards but it looked like weird white spots, so I gave up on the idea ;
7-it might not be too clear, but it's darker in the bottom left and getting lighter and lighter when getting to the top right corner of the wall;
8-the perspective of the wall it's not like the scan : Syaoran was like 'perpendicular', perfectly horizontal right? to put it simply, I encountered a dimensions problem : when it was just like the scan, 50% of the wall was Syaoran at the left, and 50% was the glass shards at the right ---> he didn't took as much space as I wanted him to on the wall, so I changed the perspective to null this 50/50 view that was totally ugly... ;
That's it!
I hope you'll like it and review +fav ^__^
