I just finished this wall. The scan I used of Mariko did I download from the gallery for a very -very!!- long time ago.

The biggest problem, and maybe the reason for why I waited so long to wall it, was the extraction. I downloaded it in the beginning of my walling career xD = I had absolutely no idea how PS worked, the magic wand tool was the only way for me to extract because it was the only method I knew about. Then I realized that the magic wand tool only ruined the scan so I gave up. Fairly immediately.

Anyway. That happened long time ago.

The extraction is made with the very helpful polygonal lasso-tool. It took a while to get the image ready, but the result is the best!
Then I though a little about the BG. The Elfen Lied anime is the most bloody thing I ever seen. ...so why not? And Mariko is both cute and the most sadistic character ever xD perfect combination.
So I made a balcony/verandah with some bloodsplatter (found brushes on DeviantArt) with view over the twilight. My computer is slow sometimes, to draw lines in a 1600x1200 format doesn't work very well, so the heaven was a stockphoto that I worked up with.
For a softer dusky feeling I used some blur over some of the images.

Some final words.

it's just too funny to play with people...

Those who have seen the anime probably knows what I mean...
