While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.

Additional res @ pixel ellipsis.

I saw this sketch by Evol, fell in love, pestered him to let me wall it and he kindly sent me a high-res scan of the sketch. I half-started vectoring the outlines and proceeded to sit on it for ages. Then lately I felt kind of emo and decided to finish it. Smacked a gradient on some background textures because I'm big on gradients recently, not really sure why. Soon after Gidders convinced me to send the WIP over to her and she put in the awesome skin shading, then I tweaked the eyes a bit, added some light shading for the dress and smacked on the branches. Gids also pulled out the wall's name. So it was a three-way collab really.

Paper texture from bashcorpo.dk. Sky overlay texture from devART. Branches stock from Stock.XCHNG. And again, lineart by the awesome Evol. Thanks < 3 and to potat0rs for checks and support < 3

That artwork of evol is great sad he stopped drawing now lol *kicks evol's face*
she actually looks like she's emerging from her earthly cocoon and becoming a flying-lady-butterfly :'D becoz of the way she's colored...and yeah i can't think of anything more interesting than "flying-lady-butterfly"

Beautiful piece of art work you have here, I love her face and eyes I mean what a lovely expression and the transitioning colors to light then light blue is perfect, and the fact that this is a hand drawn piece of work just makes it even more special. I think it's a wonderful wallpaper and you both did a amazing job. A+ and a fav the best I've seen all day .(n_n). emoticon

It's astounding that it's a piece of original anime art. When I looked at the wallpaper I was thinking - hey, the anime looks great, I should go and download it xDD

I love the fact that you used a reddish brown for the outlines on the left and how it gradually changed to black on the right. It adds a great touch to the beauty of the wallpaper. I like the gradient too, though I wouldn't have thought of mixing these two colors together *.* Shows that creativity has no bounds xDD The only gripe I have is that the painting of her shoulders looks a little stiff. Otherwise, the whole wallpaper rocks! (and I'm sure it's going straight to the tops in no time)

Ouh nice artwork. I love the eyes and the wings the most. The subtle colors also look really well with this. Gideon did a great job on the skin shading too. It's so nice and smooth. =O I'd rather see it without the textures though. But that's just my personal taste. You guys did a great job on it nonetheless, so off to my favs! =D

He said yesterday he would draw something, but of course that fell through...

Anyways, this is one of my favorite drawings he's done. Oddly enough it's the only one he's actually drawn in a long time. The colors you used are great. Really really pretty and natural. Plus, I'm always a fan of warm to cool.
Not much to say since any bitching about the drawing itself I would have to do to him, and he's heard it all from me. I was over his shoulder most of the time while he drew it >_>

FAIRY! I love fairies, although I am used to drawing a slightly different style, where their wings are larger(especially if they have sad raggedy wings) and are only smaller like that if they are cute wings, lol. But I love her face and hair! Especially the eyes with those big antenna-like eyelashes; I love when people add other bug-like features to fairies. ^_^
But I really like the way you coloured/vectored it with those wispy whimsical lines and the background too, nice job!

I love these two colors, they mix so beautifully, it really is a great wall..

Ah, the art! :3 i especially love her hair. of course, the color choices are beautiful. and really smart to take scenic elements and use them this way. :O

minor complaint that i don't quite like how the bottom of her butterfly wings is largely solid black -- not as...um..subtle (not quite the right adjective but i've got nothing better right now) as the rest. other than that, nothing much to say but gorgeous work. it's a +fav for me. xD

Wonderful art. Very pretty. :D I wish the hair was coloured the same way as the skin, it could do wonders for the wall if the hair had more tones/shades. Generally I like the wallpaper's layout and what you've done with the art (neat vectoring, well done!). My only other complain besides the hair is that the blue on the right side of the wall is a bit too saturated so it somewhat clashes with the soft earth tone on the left. I know some might prefer it as it is..just my opinion. =] Good effort.
