To tell the truth this wall would have to be one of the hardest attempts I have ever made to capture the emotion of the viewer. I wanted a scan that would give the kind of sadness and loss that we have all felt or will feel at one point in our lives. This wall was not only about emotion but also to show the beauty of human emotion and experiences. I hope that I achieved this considering how hard it is to capture something so delicate that one wrong mistake can shatter the image.
The scene was challenging because I am not used to working with dark images and I had to make the proper contrast with certain objects to make them stand out but not too much. I really wanted to show the difference between the dark and some light source. I thought about light rays cascading down but that is always overused so I decided I would try a more majestic look with the fireflys, also this helped to bring out the gold in the dress. The leafs were also tricky because they can look very bland very quickly so I had to incorporate the right shades in the right places. I wanted the bench to have a real wooden feel so I first vectored it and through many layers of texture I managed to give it the delicate appeal that the woman has. I vectored the trees and made a texture and used a filter to give it the certain look I was going for. This project has taken me 10+ hours and a numerous amount of layers and I have gone through 5 versions. I would also like to give special thanks to Gat for helping me critique this.
