After months of work, chanelqueen17 has created a gorgeous scene of Alice and Oz from Pandora Hearts, using scans that didn't even feature both characters together. Even after spending so much time on matching the details of the characters to their new looks, chanelqueen17 didn't stop there and went all out on the background too! So lately my walls have pretty much sucked :/ So I decided to take my walling to the next level and finally get myself to learn how to vector and my dear friend ~Stereoman made me this tutorial on how to vector. Check her out! ;) She is the best! And big thanks to her < 3

Anyway, basically this is my first vector ever. When I read the latest chapter of Bleach and saw this badass I just felt like I had to lose my vector-virginity to him, lol.
He seemed like a pretty easy scan to do since it was almost all black'n'white and it didn't have any hair, eyes etc etc.
And to be honest it was easier than I anticipated. Except for the crown maybe.
And I actually enjoyed myself while making this, which I didn't expect (n_n)-b emoticon

Program used: Photoshop CS2

Process:

Vector: 3 hours
Overall: 4-5 hours.

EDIT: Changed the font :P

EDIT 2: Changed the font again.

The font and contrast of the font really kill this one for me, I think you should really invest some time in downloading a set of fonts for use when walling! I really like the background texture and glow though, nice image choice too!

The vector is great!
The only things I can complain about are the fonts used and the black box, otherwise, it's perfect!

In absolute darkness in the black, the god of death is waiting for the time of destiny. Simple concept and color in the wallpaper are really cold and horrible.

OK, so Job Well done on the vector!
You accomplished it! (i have yet to lose my vector-virginity yet. Im still working on it though)

But you know, as Barragan is all Skulls and "I am Greater Than Thou", I think the font is a little...simple for him.

To me, i think calligraphy-ish fonts would look better.

(umm, sorry for saying this even afte ryou changed the fonts.)

But other than that, the background rules!

As oustanding the vectoring may be (which it is), the background stripes and that horribly simple font, with that meaningless text (the character name just doesn't do the trick for wallpaper texts) screws your great vector.

The suggestion I'd give you is to change the text. Maybe use some Barragan-centered title from the manga, like "Tyrant of Skulls" or "Spit on your own god". Even "Great Skull Emperor" or "Arrogant" would be better. And use a... grunge sort of font. Or maybe a gothic one. Maybe trying to blend the text with the BG would be good too.

I'm also not fond of the stripes, they don't seem to fit in there. Maybe the grunge alone, or a combination of grunge textures would look better.

I'd rather have no text and no black column in the middle. It would still be pretty good

All the vectoring aside, the letters are great! Vertical approach made the whole deal look like a calendar which is a clear hint for time and time is clearly his power. Good job m8 +fav
