This is my second wallpaper- the prototype of this (submitted a considerable time ago) had many good qualities- but an even greater number of poor ones. So all advice/criticism is appreciated. Everything (save the scan: http://www.animepaper.net/gallery/scans/Monster/item45723/) is original (including the stock photo). The scan itself took quite a while to clean up ...and I've also added a few personal touches to it.
To create this wall I used a combination of Picasa 2 and The GIMP. I worked on this wall on and off for a good chunk of time. Since I'm self taught, it takes me much longer to do simple tasks that might take others a brief amount of time. Hope you enjoy!

1st revision: Due to negative feedback in regards to the text I removed it from the upper left hand corner...any thoughts? Should I place the stylized Monster logo there?...Or just leave it as is?

Wow, you don't see many Monster wallpapers, and it's my favorite series! I never cared much for Nina/Anna, but she's still a cool character~ In this scan she looks more like her mother, with that solemn look on her face. I like your addition of textures and changes of the color...and the stock photo also adds a mysterious feel fitting for Monster. :3 I don't care for the text or that shape next to it though...it's just kind of there, and the shape is of poor quality. :/ So I say get rid of those things!

Also, I see the scan being more more of a painting theme because the style is like a painting...so just bordering with black doesn't do it justice! I don't know. XD Don't ask me! I still like it though~ Thanks for contributing to the category. :D

This is so refreshing to look at. To me it looks like a soft subtle soothing sketch/painting, not too complicated and far from simple. I like it a lot, it's visually striking and beautiful. I like how the background sets the tone of the wallpaper, you did a superb job and thank you for sharing this wonderful wall.

Wow! This is beautiful! I agree with both Angel-Zakuro and Mimilu: your Moster wallpaper looks like a painting (also I could say that your wallpaper reminds me of a scene from a movie :D) . Pretty ^_^ But you know what? If I were you I'd get rid of the text and the star on the left side corner, they're rather distracting and I think the scene you have created has a quite misterious and nostalgic atmosphere at the same time. It's really interesting!!

This was one of the scans that was on my long list one scans I want to make a wallpaper with
you did a really great job with it! n_n
The composition is uncomplicated and very straight forward but also works exceedingly well for the content.

Well, I am from Germany myself and have to say, that I know no anime that manages to picture my homecountry the way that "Monster" does - the creators have a sharp eye for the details of our culture and the locations depicted in the anime look exactly like their counterparts in real life.

But, to your paper. I liked Nina much (well, I liked all characters...except Johan... he just facinated me). I like, what you have done. Your wall expresses the melancholia, Nina falls in from time to time - and I think it is the dark side of the human soul, that should be presented in "Monster" artwork - even in "Monster" wallpapers. /(oOo)#

I would use this as a wallpaper if there weren't the black bars on the top and bottom...it detracts from this for some reason. I do like the texturing of Nina. The sky could do without it though.
