Alright, let's get this over with...
The reason why I put that first line in, is because I personally don't like how this wall turned out. I'll explain that later, let's do first things first:
This wallpaper is basically a vector from this scan
__THISRES__174396.jpg)
I had to draw some extra stuff due to the resolution, but I wanted to respect the original artist, so most of it is a 1 on 1 vector of the original artwork.

I started with this project last summer and really enjoyed working on the character. I don't know Kodomo no Jikan, so I don't really know who this girl is, but based on some other scans and screenshots I could find, she seems to be some teacher or something. Hence the title.
Anyway, as I said, vectoring the character was very fun, especially because this really is the kind of vector I like. No gradients, no black outlines, no complicated shadows.
The lack of shadows received some critic when I put this wall in Session Zero, but as said, I wanted to respect the original artist, so if the scan doesn't have those shadows, my wall doesn't have them either.
I was right on schedule with my wall when I started on the background, but boy-oh-boy did that turn out bad. First of all, I concluded the original artwork of the scan was made by two artists: a character designer and a background artist. I know this is quite common, but my god was this background artist a lazy one. If you take a closer look, you'll notice that the items on the desk repeat themselves. Also, the background artist was supplied with what seems to have been all color-pencils the character designer didn't need. The result is just a complete mess.
At this point, I could of course wish the background artist a nice trip to hell and design my own background, but fact is I lack the creative skills for that, so I had to stick to his lame work and took months to complete the parts I had to draw myself.
The reason why I'm now submitting this wall is because ever since my first wall, 2 years ago, I've been trying to make something of similar quality. Point is, that wall was rated SSS here on AP and it really took me this long to realize that it's almost impossible to keep up that level. I'm a perfectionist by nature, so this is quite difficult for me to submit this (to me) below-average wallpaper. What I reckon though, is that everyone is better off with me just making MORE wallpapers, rather than submitting a kick-ass wall once in 5 years or so. I mean, the essense of AP is to share as many wallpapers as possible and there will always be people that like a wall.
In conclusion, this is -hopefully- the start of a new beginning for me. More walls, more fun walls and eventually, more super-fantastic walls for you to download.
Feel free to drop a comment on this wall, but as explained above, this is just a wall that I had to submit for myself. I'm aware of the fact that it's not a particularly good wall, so don't waste your time summing up the bad things in the background.
What I would appreciate though, is comments/advice on the vector of the character. As said, I really enjoyed vectoring her (especially the see-through bit ^__^), so yea, that's definitely something that I might do again in the future.
Thanks to all people who commented in Session Zero and a big shout-out to the Paper People, the Stalker Club and the Welcome 2 AP group!
Take care,
-GA
Edit: revision includes the .jpg file format. Thanks Dias for noticing the resizing script doesn't work on .png files.
