I found this beautiful stock photo some time ago on google while searching for something else. When I found the scan here, I instantly thought if this photo. I believe they fit together well.
Well, I went for a surreal wall here. I wanted to portray hell as a beautiful yet lonely place and I think this is the perfect scene. I found it way too plain though and tried different perspectives until I thought of what you see here.

The photo went through a lot of manipulation [mainly smudging] to achieve a painting-ish look. The work on the scan was not that much, I just used some filters and a few other tools to make it blend somewhat to the background.
