Otanjoubi Omedetou Vitaamin
Best wishes~
So, with my life being pretty hetic right now I didn't know if I would have enough time to make something for Vitaa-chan...I knew I wanted to make an original for her, since I showed her some of my art and she really loved it.
Did a lot of sketches, but ended up choosing this one, and later made a decent drawing from it.
I first started playing around in photoshop, checking if the composition would work or not. Started vectoring just to check on what kind of colors I'd use and when I noticed, I was enjoying the outcome.
I first intended to outline the whole thing and just use gradients when coloring it. I ended up liking the result, with no lines. Made the mask more simple than it was in the drawing for several reasons :P
Then I proceeded to add the text. That was the hard part! I suck at using it plus what kind of things would be written?
I started thinking of what to write and later added them. So don't pay attention to what's written; it's all random stuff.
I also forced myself to not use many colors. Red was on my mind since the very beginning.
The message of the work is by no means related to Vitaa lol
I'm sure you all know I love mask simbology, if you recall my Original in Summer last year.
And the girl had to have twin tails, since I love those~
I admit doing this one work was difficult at first, coming up with the idea and composition but after that it was all very fun and interesting.
It reminded me of when I first started walling. I only extracted the scans and used brushes and more brushes and made abstract backgrounds.
Oh that's right! The only thing I didn't make was the pattern.
I'm sure my gift will be the crappiest one of all the awesome ones you'll get :nya:
Anyways, hope you enjoy it, Vitaa! ...and sorry it's not a bishie! :x
----Status
Original Size: 1920x1200 <- Lol yeah! I know D8
Duration: April 15th
Time: 4 hours (sketching included)
Easiest: Vectoring
Most Difficult: The text!
Challenging: again, the text! I simply suck at using it, so it was quite a challenge to make it work out.
Most Fun: Thinking of words related to the work; the mask's design.
Other Versions: Darker Version | Different BG
