My favorite character from Kare Kano. In this wall, which is my first, I tried to pair Arima with a flower like they do on the covers of Kare Kano. I tried to use colors that reflected my feelings when I read about Arima in the manga. A dark, warm Autumn day came to mind the most when I read about him. The flower isn't anything in particular, I just made one in Photoshop using the pen tool.
This wall went through many revisions. I tweaked the colors, background, stock and font many, many times. I finally got it to a good point where I feel I can stop. It took me about 4-5 hours to create in Photoshop and Illustrator.
The part about it I like the most is the vectored parts (flower and sweeping, windy, curved lines). I designed those in Illustrator, then applied textures over them in photoshop using some nice brushes. The part that gave me trouble was the background. A few suggestions on that would be helpful for future improvement.
