Widescreen FTW! I definitely recommend it. Standard has the black bars of death at the top and bottom, lol. Sorry. I didn't want to have any part of this wall cut off by being in standard, so I had to do that. ^^;; Anyhoo... I AM NOT DEAD. Although I sure felt like it quite often during this walling process. I haven't been online, or at least not on AP, for over a month! I'm sorry! T__T But school was killing me, and most of all, my mind and paranoia were killing me. I couldn't bring myself to come on here for several reasons...and I had to take a LONG break from walling. ~__~; I don't know if I'm still feeling better about things, but I wanted to finish this wall. And I FINALLY did.
After seeing this scan, I got inspiration. I love Haibane Renmei; it's one of my all-time favorite anime~ And I wanted to use my tablet to paint again (especially since I think ABe-sensei's style is similar to my sketchiness). It's so much fun! ^_^ For the most part...at least, lol. It's also very rough and time-consuming. I had a lot of fun with painting Rakka, but once she was done, my uh...hesitation and fear set in! I had a major artist's block. Staring at that blank canvas in the bg scared the crap out of me. I knew I wanted to make a foresty scene like in the original, but I didn't know how to go about it. I also had an idea to put a crow in there...since crows are such a major symbol in Haibane. ♥ So first I did the crow, using this photo as reference. I've never drawn a crow before. I was greatly afraid to start! *laugh* But then I got the hang of it, and had fun with karasu-chan, too. :3
It's the bg that killed me. But a savior came with the name Andrea, and she helped me greatly. She gave me lots of ideas and advice on how to go about the trees and leaves etc! *hugs her* So after weeks of staring at a blank canvas, I got help and moved along with finishing it. And now it's done. Oh, school is also done. I'm on summer break now. >D I hope that with that, my mind will calm down, and I won't be so stressed. Though, honestly, walling has really been stressing me out more...so expect long breaks in between again! ^^; Ok, um...here's some screenshots I took during the process:
Thanks for reading my long description! ^^; And thanks for being patient with me. :) Hopefully I can muster up enough will to make another wallpaper soon. But until then, I appreciate any comments/faves on this one! THANKS.
