I was trying to recreate the End of Evangelion scene on the beach at the end. The original image that I used was actually a black and white scan from a manga issue that I've had for a while. (http://transluscent.net/wallpaper/asuka_source.jpg)

So, first I vectored the image of Asuka. To do so, I had to spot the colors from another image, and I also had to recreate the bandages because the original image did not have them in it.

Next I had to create the beach scene. This actually turned out to be pretty hard in the long run just because I went through a ton of different ways to do it (Photoshop effects, stock) and finally used an image of Rei Ayanami at the beach in my there Mond artbook to vector the ocean that you see. (As a note, the ocean is red in the movie, I went back and watched it to double check.)

After that it was a matter of painting, texturing, fixing the sand, and adding the cross, which I also vectored from an image of Misato.
