I wanted to attract the attention towards mountains so I put Ginko in first plane and made him look blurry, because the focus is on the mountains (like when you make a photo). I made the mountains using a photo, I applied several filters to make them look like an ancient paint (at least that was the intention). I put some blue on the sky to separate it from the mountains. I added some fog on Ginko to integrate him into the landscape and put the logo. I hope you like it!

Woot! Mushishi Waller! :D
i like the idea behind this, but the execution needs work. the Blur on ginko is a bit much (not like, ALOT too much, just a bit) and he looks jagged around the edges - is he from a screenshot? even though it's a pain when you're gonna blur anyways, it alwyas looks better if you vector before you work with a screenshot.
the Filter you used on the mountains (one of the brush filters?) feels a bit out of place - while i like the heavy, black lines there's too much releif in the mountains (as in, they feel as if they're popping up) and it feels out of place.
Absolutely loving the smoke and have no complaints.
the font seems a bit too white there in the corner and doesn't blend well with the rest of the wall.
That said, good effort and kudos to you for walling Mushishi!

I love the tradiotional feel of the mountains in the background they look really good. Two things bug me though, the white characters in the corner, and how blurred the guy in the foreground is. The white characters don't really fit with the rest of the wall and the guy could do with being a little bit crisper, just so there's not so much detail missing.
I really like the idea behind this wall, shame there's not one in my resolution *weeps*
Good job ^~

I really like it, it's a great scene to look at. It makes you feel as if you are really staring off into the distance, great job.

God, a Mushishi wall T_T Gorgeous concept. But I would agree that the execution needs a bit of work, Ginko is definitely blurred too much. The sky could use a bit more blue, and I'm not sure about the Chinese text going down the left side... apart from it being covered by my icons, something a little more calligraphic might work better. But yeah, huge kudos to you for walling Mushishi, and coming up with a scene that really fits the mood of the series ^^ Stunning photomanip work on the mountains as well :)

Beautiful work of art.. ^_^
the mountains in the background as well as style of creating it looks very much like the chinese black ink painting.. Good Job! ^_^

I think you did a pretty good job, the concept is great. a couple of things that would've made this look even better: i'm with flyin' on making the sky have more color (just a bit, but not alot), i actually don't mind the blur on the chara (it gets the point across, but maybe less might look better...not sure though...), i really think this wall would've benefited from have a light texture over it (canvas would be the best so it goes with your "painting" feel, this helps to hide the small flaws as well as blend everything better. we can tell you used filters before you even said anything and i've always been told by the really good wallers here that we shouldn't be able to see the filters/effects used. so a texture will almost always help out with that, you just need to play around with the blending modes and opacity), and i don't mind the oriental letters (i love stuff like that! i don't think there's enough of them out there! ;p) but i don't like the position. more to the right and down a bit might be better. a very large majority of people put their icons on the left-hand side so it's going to be covered up. i think if you look at alot of painting in the style you have here, they don't have the words so close to the edge like that. i don't mind that it's white but i feel that a diff color might look even nicer. oh! some birds could look nice or would that be too cluttered?
great job overall! the percpective is perfect! :)

As an alternative solution, instead of using the blur filter to achieve the effect you were aiming for, you could obscure Ginko with more fog. :)

love this wall, the mountains are sick, and the fog/clouds make it very mysterious & ominous. Nice job :)

The chinese-style background mountains and the idea of the fog/mist and him looking through it is a great concept, but it doesn't really mesh in with ginko's drawing, maybe if he was set more so to that style, don't know how that can be done though.

Well, if we like it? We love it! The mountains are simply great. This chinese-calligraphy-like stile is fascinating. Though I haven´t seen this anime yet, I may think about it now. Anyway as said before, the characters might have been larger, in different color and most likely better positioned. But still thanks for a great wallie.

The style of the mountains looks like the traditional Chinese painting. I like this wallpaper. The feeling of this picture is good. Thanks for sharing your work.

I like the simplicity of the background. The background really captures the mood and the setting of the anime. Great job on the fog! It just seems that Ginko seems a bit more blurred than he should be.

I disagree with everyone else about the blur, the depth of field is amazing-- really highlights the mountains. Definetly consider cleaning up your extraction though, and lighten up on the filters over the mountains.

Awesome mushishi wallpaper. I love the background.

Definitely a pretty good concept, and it works very well for me. I just see some small problems here and there, like the character scan. The blur effect is fine, that doesn't seem to be the thing, maybe it's the extraction.. I can't quite put my finger on it.
The mountains in the BG, especially the one to the left, is a little too sharp, too focused. I doubt you could see that much detail from such a distance.
Still, the wall gives me a really nice feeling, and that is what's most important. Good job^^

Like this one. I'm really into these stony mountains clouded in fog. It gives it kind of a dreaming atmosphere.

This wallpaper is utterly beautiful. I love white space, which sounds odd, I know, but it's a zen thing, leave images implied. You even wafted up Ginko to make him fit in with the foggy background. Definitely grabs the mysterious feeling od "Mushishi."

I also think this is a very nice wallpaper, it's simple, but really beautiful. :]
