As an animation, Bakemonogatari has a simple, clean art style. But the guest illustrations for the series are anything but simple! So, it's great to see that °Tens took on a more complex illustration and made it his own with vector gradients so fine at points it more resembles painting that vectoring. Ok finally to my tablet( worth the $314 price tag) piece, I have messed around and pretty much sketch everything beside the clouds. Since I'm horrible at creating the weather I added the rain and wanted a dark wet look with a touch of my messy signature...enjoy! P(T_T) emoticon

Render:Credits to the scan artist and uploader( found here)
Time: 5-6 hours(I'm so tired after this)
Software:Photoshop CS3
Tablet: Redrew hair, face, clothes, rain, anything you see different I have touch with my tablet...plus added the pink lines on the clothes for more color goodness.
Brushes: Credits on deviantart brush makers whom I used a few
Effects: Filters, layer blending, a bunch on this.

Rain droplets are too long,and their ends should be spikey,but everything else is really cool^^

Yet I know the rain wasn't good but as a person who hasn't done any rain or snow piece I think I did pretty well or gave a respectable try.

Oh, very cool. Nice job using your tablet! I love the rain. ^^ Rain is definitely hard to do...but I think the way you did it really makes it stand out. You give it a sense of anger that goes along with the scan. You redrew it all? Wow! My only problem is that the wall is really dark, like really really dark, and so it's hard to see the details and see your hard work with redrawing her. But it's still a very nice wall. Good job! :D

Very nice work~~ I like the blended, sketchy feeling.
Wonderful use of filters and such, though for all that trouble you could have just vectored it. xD
I love the way you did the rain; rain is one of those difficult things you have to try to get the feeling of without making it obnoxiously present, and I think you found an excellent balance. =^^=
