Been a while since i've submitted anything here. Well lets just say lots of things happened. >_> Anyway here i am with my latest wallpaper. Something different from what i usually do. It's my entry for EVI for the wall challenge over at PV, and we won! ^__^ The theme of the challenge was blood and weapons. So i decided to make a wallpaper for Le Chevalier D'Eon. Which imho was an interesting anime. Besides, this anime have'nt had any wallpapers on AP. So i decided to make one for this category.

First i took this scan and extracted the characters. Later i smoothened the picture bit by bit with the blur tool and the help of my tablet, and smoothened out those scan lines. After i was done with that (which took what seemed like forever), i moved onto the background. So i took this screenshot taken from the OP song of the anime and did the same smoothening method as i did with the characters, and also applied some filters. I then extracted the rocks from the original scan and enlarged it a bit, and once again the smoothening was done. After that i painted the ground, and added shadows for the rocks/rubble and the characters. Then i moved onto the fire and made that with the help of this tutorial. The sword was extracted from this screenshot from the ED song of the anime. Added some filters, messed with lighting a bit, and made some dripping blood on the sword and the ground. Lastly i used some levels and curves to adjust the lighting, and im done! ^__^

It was a long and tiresome process, but im quite happy with the results. ^__^

I totaly loved the idea from the moment i saw the screenshots.. and the final result is great... i like the work you did on the bg.. looks totaly soft and with a nice painted look.. I still wish the height of the flames changed a bit more on some places.. but anyway i love how you painted them... this wallpaper looks amazing!

Seems like you had your plan on lock down, lol. the work was definitely worth it, this is a really simple but strong wallpaper if you get what that means, it inspires me to try to be more organized with my wall making, but maybe it is just the way you explained the process made it sound like lots of work but simple steps, in the end your wall came out beautiful (n_n)-b emoticon

I very much like the way you edited the characters and their surroundings to glow against the background firelight. Nicely edited and spliced, although the flames could use a little more detail and be made a little less... consistent--it does make them seem a little more fake than they should be. There again, I haven't seen the anime from which your wallpaper derives, so that consistency may be...dare I say, *consistent*...with the show itself. Also, perhaps you could add a little more to the environment, in that as it is it seems a bit empty to me. I really like it, and despite its being my first-viewed work on this site, I'm gonna add it as a favorite, for of all the new releases on the front page it caught my attention better than any other did. Again, bravo, and keep up the good work!
