Hello
!
Made this a while ago, thought I had submitted it here, but I didn’t!
I saw this scan and for some reason it reminded me of Ukiyo-e (Japanese woodblock prints) of Samurai, and I thought it would be fun to make an Ukiyo-e style wallpaper out of the scan.
Ukiyo-e I used for the wall:
Print that the scan reminded me of
Print used for the house
Print used for trees
I vectored everything that I used for the print (even the cherry trees >.<) and then went back with different brushes to add textures and such. In a lot of prints, you can see the actual wood grain on parts of the print from the stamping of the wood blocks, so I just googled wood grains and used an image I found for the wall.
Some of Ukiyo-e, some parts of the image have great detail, while other parts of the image have very little detail. Like a kimono will be intricately detailed, but then a lot of times the people in the prints don't cast a shadow, etc. So, I tried to mix up adding lots of detail and not as well. Also, things sometimes aren't always to scale so I tried to incorporate that as well.
There were a lot of layers used (over 150 >.<), and this took a good bit of time.
Hope you guys like the wall!
