Made for piccolobear's request for the Moar Plz! ongoing project at Invalid Litter Dept. The request was for a Natsume Yuujinchou wall (manga style preferred).
Took me forever to finish this one. @~1@ I was trying to go for a Art Nouveau style hence the fancy frame. I used a texture for his kimono because I thought it would give it a neat effect plus that saved me the pain of having to vector that. XD It's supposed to look like the butterflies are tattoos on his arm that are escaping. :3 I ended up anime-izing the manga scan, I think almost anything I do comes out looking anime-ish. :/ In this case piccolobear and I decided his brown anime hair was better then the grey hair he has in the manga. For the background I used several stock photos and some textures with liberal use of layer blending and filter effects.
I tried out lots of new stuff on this wall, so sorry if it ends up looking a little weird. And sorry it's only in widescreen. I can't think of a good way to shrink the frame to standard screen size. :X
Stock/textures: sxc.hu and resurgere and personal Japanese paper scans
