To start with: some thanks to deviant art for the useful brushes!
The scan I used was very noisy, so what I have done mostly is to clean. And clean.
I did the extraction with the polygonal lasso tool, with my competence it would be impossible to do it with the macic wand ^^;
Anyway, the hard part was to extract it.
The bg choice... I wanted to keep the original style because I though it was beautiful, so i did my best to recreate it. The bridge is my design... To the right you can see the industrial estate, and to the left the clocktower and random buildings.
well, not much more to say. I hope you like it though^-^ I've been working with this random periods for some weeks.
