Edit: Due to popular demand I've uploaded the non-blurred version - this blur was an effect, not the scan quality. Hope You like the new version more, thanks for the comments and critique^^
Another Eureka7 wall, made out of OST1 cover picture. This one was tricky, in some places even very tricky. The very first idea was to texturize the character and make some very simple background in order to show contrast between them. After finishing it up, I wanted to try different bledning options and liked one of the outcomes, so I completely changed the idea. I made Eureka's "aura", distanceing her from the background. Then another concept popped into my mind - let's make the background with lines, only lines. Rotated 45 degrees, with different lenght, thickness and tone. It wasn't hard, it was only time-consuming. The outcome looked nice, and it was time to finish. Few finishing touches with character overlay, "aura" and background lines (green and blue - grass and the sky). I wanted to make the text different - so i rotated the letters and moved them in different places, and gathered them together, so they would actually compose words.
Beside some shortcomings, especially near the character, I like this one. It may not be perfect - but it's something different, and working with a sketch with such irregular lines is a good experience which may halp me in future projects. It took long - but I think that it was worth it.
