This all started with a 'how-to-make-water' tutorial for Photoshop that I read a while ago. I thought -- what the heck, I'll give it a try. I was quite happy with the results. Then, I saw this great scan from volume 4 of 'The Edge' manga and I thought that Rey would fit perfectly with the watery background, to give the impression that he was on some sort of battle ship, cruising through the sea. But his expression was hardly a happy one, so that's when the whole sepia / unitone idea came up. Then I thought, why not make it into a photo? After I finished the photo, I messed around with the layers and everything, added a spot of blood for emphasis and finally the text. Ta-daa~!
Recap: everything you see in the wallpaper was vectored / rendered / brushed by me. I used no stock photo apart from the Rey image, and hardly any filters at all. Well, hope you like it! ^_^
