As an animation, Bakemonogatari has a simple, clean art style. But the guest illustrations for the series are anything but simple! So, it's great to see that °Tens took on a more complex illustration and made it his own with vector gradients so fine at points it more resembles painting that vectoring. You know when helicopters and SWAT teams aren't enough...Are car chases necessary? Maybe for some criminals, but most of the car chases are by stupid and scared people. Why not just send a helicopter up and start diverting traffic?

Hello~ I'm Kendra! This is actually one of my first wallpapers.

WAAAUGH this took a long time! And so many layers!
It actually isn't a vector... well, I don't think you could call it that? Maybe? I made it in Flash, anyway (EDIT: By this I mean I completely re-drew the image, but I didn't use an Photoshop pen tool or anything, I used Flash... so I wasn't sure if that counted as a real vector, as it doesn't have the same effect as using Photoshop! Sorry for the confusion, but I just want to let you all know that I didn't just extract a scan and plop it on a background, once again, it's all been re-drawn)

I first saw Ouran in 2006, but only saw up to episode 11... so this year I downloaded the whole series and currently I am on episode 17, and... the event that happens in 16 made me squeal so much that I guess I was inspired to waste my week doing this wallpaper?
Anyway, I hope I didn't TOTALLY waste my time, and I hope some people like this! I've gotten yelled at numerous times the past few days, and today, for being on the computer so long working on this thing... haha
EDIT: I finished the Ouran series! Waaah, so awesome! I'm wishing for a season two, but I doubt it's gonna happen.

Hm nice bg i mean the texture is cool but a bit to dark perhaps a window or a room would have been better ^^
the vector is quite nice but the lines are a bit shaggy but it's really nice |(n_n)| emoticon

Actually this isn't a bad wallpaper, but is not the quality what I'm used on Anime Paper.
Since you is you first wallpaper, I can understand, but there are still easy steps how to make it better. Your biggest problem are the white outlines arround the characters. It makes them more visible, but for some peeps can look like a bad extraction. Cause it don't appears else as on the sides. Also the character are way too cropped. Rather make them smaller, but cut down less as possible.
Characters vs. background. The colors are suitable, but still looks like they are just pasted. Creating a floor by their legs and making it look like a room (scenic background), your wallpaper could be twice better as now.

The background is far too plain for such a scan as this.
I love the scan but the grey bg totally clashes in a bad way.
More work next time. ;3

The scan has some white outlines in it, It looks like they're glowing.
The BG is too simple. The title must be "Open the door to see", then the "room" is too plain and I think you must submit this first on SZ so those kind humans here @ AP will help you.
Try vectoring or making a better quality to the characters, Changing the BG into a room (curtains & windows might be included) and adding some colors that suits your scan.
But I like the font on your sig, It looks handwritten, but I think this is incomplete. Try improving. And I'm sorry if I'm a bit strict to comment on your first wall.

Aww! This is so cute. You work is clean and the colors are crisp.

There is an outline around the characters but I like it, it makes them stand out from the dark blue background.

The scan or vector not sure since you didn't really
say it directly is a bit jagged around some areas and that
white line around them looks really bad when you put it up
against that dark back ground.

Also like some others said the background is too simple
for a scan like this, maybe a room or something would look much
more suitable for this type of scan, group scans never look right with
abstract back grounds, it's best to leave that to the solo scans.

More work can be done for a better look.

You've done a really nice job with the vectoring though you didn't mention it. I've had this wallpaper for sometime and I'm really happy that you decided to submit it here. I really like the simplicity of the wallpaper and the background is really good. Thank you so much for all the other versions that was very kind of you. I like the white line around the characters because lets face it, these guys are really more on the cartoonist side anyway and I think line kind of shows that. Anyway it's a really nice wallpaper and thanks again for all the other versions.

I was honestly going to try to do a background such as Bisco Hatori would do for this, but I was SO anxious to get this finished, and I was leaving home for 2 weeks a couple days before I finished, so I wouldn't have had nearly enough time to do a good background, so I'm aware this could be much, much better. Someday though, I may go back to this wallpaper and do a good background~
Aah, and I've seen this same scan done a couple times with a room background (floor, windows...), so I didn't want to do that... and I wasn't sure how I would go about doing the infamous Ouran "roses" background, haha
Oh, and about the... "the white lines make it look like I'm trying to cover something up" thing... the only thing I was trying to do was make the characters stand out from the background! I edited the wallpaper description and explained this, but this isn't just a scan plopped onto a background, it's all RE-DRAWN! xD So I could take the white border away, and there would be no white pixels left over, just the black outlines.
Sorry if I sound like I'm trying to defend my work, I'm really not... I just feel the need to explain why I did what I did, and to say that the only thing half-assed on this is the background, as the characters themselves took about a week to complete p(T_T)q emoticon

Adorable - you really captured each character's personality in this piece. Their physical closeness makes this seem almost like a family portrait, which is a very cute idea, and the fancy design in the background reminds one of the high class setting of the series.

I definitely like the crispness of your vector. its clear that you did put a lot of effort into the image of the wallpaper. However, i think if the background was a solid color with some lines or something would be equally effective.
