I made this wallpaper to enter the S-A-I-Y-U-K-I group wallpaper contest. I chose the theme ‘Bad Friends’(which is one of the songs from the Saiyuki vocal album) because seriously, ‘Good Friends’ is the last thing you can describe Sanzo and gang with. The four of them are such different individuals and they don’t actually quite care about each other outwardly, yet somehow, they make perfect companions for each other in their trip to the West.

The scans used in this wallpaper are from the Saiyuki art books Salty Dog II and IV. The background is done using brushes, filters and c4d renders. One of the hardest part in making the wall was to get the colours to look good mixed up. But I’m quite pleased with the way it turned out.

I'm really sorry for saying this, but I personally don't like the colour that you choose.
But I like the middle picture, the effects around it and the link to each person.

Wow! The background must have required from you a lot of work!
I like the colors out there are quite nice! I like them ^^
I liked how you managed to link the characters together too!
However, I think that there is a bit too much contrast between the background of the central group scan compared with the general background you created for the wallpaper.
It still turned out nicely ^^
Thanks for featuring this song! That's the one I was planning on working on, but I could not fault of time =_=

The background is really good. Its caleidoscope-style is very nice, especially because of the colors. The characters are fits well to the background, though, their faces looks grid patterned, and that doesn't look too good. Anyway, nice wallpaper.

Hey! Nice wallpaper. I especially like the background. It looks so pretty. *_* The colors are so lovely there. You managed to incorporate the song title really well with this wallpaper. Lol they are bad friends. xD However, i think the circles stand out too much compared with the bg. It just does'nt flow in with the rest of the wallpaper if you get what i mean. ^^; But it's still good nonetheless. ^_^

I liked the individual circles for each character. The background is unique in itself, but it really makes the bubbles with the characters inside stand out.
