Geez. It's been FOREVER since I last submitted a wallpaper out there. And I mean it (1 year 4 months ago xD). Reason is because I stopped making anime wallpapers, thus my new works were not elligible for AP (you can check them out at my website though). Anyway, I'm back with something I could classify as "original art", even if I'm not the original artist of the character. I just thought that the drawing style would fit AP enough to go into that category. 'Hope it won't be deleted. O_o;
Inspiration for this wallpaper comes from my new mini fandom for Hilty & Bosch a.k.a. Yu and Jin! ... Eh? Drills? Nope! The famous world level Japanese lockers (a style of hip hop dancing). The awesome twosome makes me want to try locking one of these days. Take a look. Anyway, while looking for more information about them, I saw a DVD sold at Amazon Japan "Dance Style Lockers" featuring the best Japanese locking teams Be Bop Crew, Hilty & Bosch and GoGo Brothers. The illustration cover was freaking stylish and I already knew that I wanted to turn it into a wallpaper from the moment I laid my eyes on it.
It’s been a while I haven’t done any full vector work like that and I’m glad I haven’t lost my "skills". I’m thinking of creating a tutorial on how to vector an illustration with "calligraphic" outlines by the way. Ok, I’m drifting away... Took me about 9 hours to vector the illustration properly (you’ll get to know what "properly" means in the future tutorial) and the rest was to elaborate the composition with the background. I’ve been meaning to do something with those funky circles and waves forever now but never got myself around to find a scan that would go with the flow. The final result turned out pretty wicked and I wish I was actually the original artist of this character because it would make an awesome poster or design for a tee haha. XD

*8th revision: fixed the swirls (rounder) and the character vector... sorry for the small details editing... I'm a perfectionist. XD
*13th revision: another couple of corrections in the character lines to make it really accurate to the original drawing...
