There I strike back with Hiro’s art! This is actually a fan art he did from Misa (Death Note). When I first made the wallpaper, I had no idea about Death Note. Now that I’ve started to watch the serie, I’ve decided to revamp it according to the main theme of the story (death).
I kept my original scenery but I enlarged the spotlight unevenly and brought back Misa’s pigtails (it seems to be her trademark). I scrapped the items that were on the floor because they didn’t fit the whole gore/gothic mood. The whole color contrast of Misa has been eventually redefined for a better visual effect.
I traced a floor in Illustrator then painted it in Photoshop and drew those white threads, supposedly creating the illusion Misa is like a puppet. To not keep the background pitch black, I’ve added faded dust particles. I repainted the blood stain that was in the original scan and ended up adding sparingly old textures to give the wallpaper more consistency combined with an old painting look.
