Characters are from the Sekirei calendar. Tsukiumi's boots had to be redrawn, as they were masked by the calendar. The wings for each Sekirei were traced from the manga, then imported into GIMP for manipulation. Coloring for the wings were done in GIMP and Inkscape. The background tree is from decorative wrapping paper. The Sekirei crest was traced in Inkscape then imported and scaled in GIMP. Did you realize the wings for each Sekirei were so varied?

A larger Sekirei crest was used in the draft, to the left center. I left the crest out because 1) each character now has her own crest with her number and 2) I wanted an open area on my desktop, and 3) I prefer the minimalist approach. I left the series name out because I presume you're a fan so you already know it and it's in the title. If you get this wall for the girls, read the manga. You'll enjoy it.

Added note: For those interested, this wallpaper ended up using 57 layers (GIMP and Inkscape combined). Each wing panel for Matsu and Ku are individually shaded due to their overlapping nature. The colors were picked to represent each Sekirei's ability.
