I am a big fan of the Death Note anime and i wanted to have a dark and kitchy DN wall on my desktop. But i couldn't find one, so i made it myself! I used my favourite scans of the main characters and because they already look so good i decided not to put anything(design or texture) over the faces! At first i tryed to put some little sculls in the decoration, but in the end i removed them, because they were drawing the attention too much.I also left nice place for your weather, clock, icons or whatever! I hope you like it!

I really love that, each character have a nice match with their parts, good use on color ^^
as you said, they are already in good quality, not much effect is need
I think those black line a bit too much .. and the left hand side is it a bit too dark?
anyway, you really did a nice job ,

the faces indeed look great as they are
all ornaments and decorations are tasteful and play their part perfectly
only the death note logo and title bother me
they shouldnt be seetrough
it makes them look unimportant and at the same time they buld up a mess combined with the ornaments that penetrate trough them
i would definitely turn off transparence there

When I saw the preview I was like like "oh my god"...the wall I wanted to do. ...perfectly done..but its not.
the chars dont blend at all. the ornaments are kinda random...and the text is simply awful...if you improve these we ll have one of the best DN wall here.

I like how you you located the characters in this wall, with misa and raito sorrounding L, it really gaves the impression of the battle that is going on. Also I like the scans you pick to make this wall, and the decoration with the purple bg. My only complaint is that there is a bit of extraction problems at the level of the nose and hair of misa, but besides that is good wall.

I like the style of the wallpaper you uploaded...yet i think that you should pay attention to the ornaments you used as the are placed a bit random in the picture, so i suggest you to make a revision of this wallpaper cause i think it worth much more than that. Furthermore there are some problems with the blending of the characters with the bg.
Other than that...the concept is brilliant. Just try to fix these things and the wall is going to be "super"...

Heads up, Not bad it lines up and looks pretty good on my wall. i do think that you went a little much on the vines & decor. Also you might want to play around with the text a bit so it comes through better. "2½*z"

I would totally fave this if the quality was upped and if you did what maddeath and PastorOfMuppets recommended... fixing up the text, making the logo less transparent. Otherwise, this is a perfect example of "pretty grunge" and suits Death Note well. Great job on what you've done here.

I really like the idea of how you have Light and Misa with their gods behind them and L in the middle of it. it looks great too. i just wish you had a 1600x1200 version of it. other than the resolution this is a great wall ^_^

I was happy to see a death note wall the one day that i took a look at the latest walls. happier that it is my aspect ratio xD i've had to make do with 1600x1200 walls for so long.
anyway, overall, you've done a decent job, although the scans do have that untreated grainy look to them, contrasting with the smooth bg. i also think you overdid it a bit with the black swirls, because combined with the detail in the bg, it makes the wall pretty busy. the text also doesn't pop with its color, because at parts, it fades into the scans.
just some things here and there that can be fixed. and based on the potential in the concept, i think it is worth a revision to improve on what you have right now. =]
