As an animation, Bakemonogatari has a simple, clean art style. But the guest illustrations for the series are anything but simple! So, it's great to see that °Tens took on a more complex illustration and made it his own with vector gradients so fine at points it more resembles painting that vectoring. Hey guys, this one is a special Valentines day theme for the Vectorness "Love is in the air" Challenge. I really love this series and I love these two together, they are one of my favorite couples so I had to do it. I did vector the characters and etc.but the background is not. I know the background needs touch ups but I just wanted to know if it looked okay how it is going. Any major things wrong? ALSO I would love to hear any ideas on how to make it more Valentine's themed. BUT I am still trying to keep it at a realistic level. hehe.

Well as I mentioned, this is for the Vectorness "Love is in the Air" Challenge = )
The entire image was vectored by me excluding the trees/bushes and sky elements. I truley Love these two together, and are by far one of my favorite couples. This scene just really portrays how Asahina Suzuka and Akitsuki Yamato really act throughout the anime. hehe I love it = ) And am very pleased with the results.

I love this series too! you did a great job on the vector, but i could do without the valentines stuff.thats just my personal preference, but since it is for a valentines competition i think the gift yamato is holding was a nice touch.

one problem though. the tree on the left should be behind the pole =D

Hi there...
this vector looks really nice and well made.. although i'm not sure if it makes a good valentine's theme wallpaper... cause the guy isn't looking at the girl on a sweet way.. or even the girl seams not to be paying attention to the guy...
Anyway.. the hole scene it looks cute.. and the background is really beautifull...
The other thing that i can mention is about the mast/gray-stick behind the boy...
I wonder why is that tree on the background coming above the mast..? i think that tree should be at the back ot the mast.. and not covering it cause it looks as if the mast was cutted and ended behind the boy..
anyway it a good wallpaper... and great work..

Thanks guys for your comments, I do not know how that sliped by my eyes with the layering problem of the Tree and pole, ill fix and post. Also Ill post a non-Valentine version for ya'll = )!

It's a good wallpaper and the background is good but aren't you a little bit late for valentine's day ? Here it's on 14th of feburary; may be it's in a different day in your country ?
Anyway, the vectoring of the 2 characters is very good & the back too.
May be the airplane and the banner are a repetition ?
If it was me, i would have put only one : the airplane alone without writing and the banner. Or may be not ... I don't now ;-)

Great wallpaper!
Only thing I don't like in this wall is the double massage of "happy valentines day" (on the big board and on the "flying sign"). You should only have had the big one and a clean sky!

Wow, it looks really awesome! I like the vectors, they are very clean! I do think the background is just a bit too pastel for the wall, but meh, small point, and
the repition of the banners, but unlike the person above me, I'd rather see it written on the plane, and something else on the closest banner.
great job though! it really is wonderful!

The background is nice, though the school's wall would look better as white, or grey, faint pink doesn't suit it. The characters looks good though, they fit to the background well. Nice wallpaper.
