Yes you may be right I'm just wasting time
I should learn things without reasons
I thought I knew that
knowing nothing can be better than knowing too much

This wallpaper brought to you by too much Ellegarden.
So I figured I'd celebrate DA!'s 8th birthday with a bishounen wall, and I liked the uber-angsty pose of Edward in this scan and the fact you couldn't see his face. Plus: BELLYBUTTON. Anyway, Ellegarden's alternative stylings are totally super emo-factor and perfect for the wall, so I chose the song "Monster" as the theme. It is again the attack of the orange polka dots. I realized after I exported the wall that I celebrated DA!'s 7th birthday with orange polka dotted Pop Art craziness as well. Maybe it will be a new DA! tradition.
Not much to say on technique. Vector trace. Originally it was going to be a lot like Route 66 with its dramatic coloring, but more grungewhore -- except I suck at grungewhore and couldn't make it work. Then it was going to be very red, but the jpeg was absolute crap unless it wasn't compressed (making the file size absurdly large) so I swapped it for a equally bright orange background to match Ed's hair. So there you go. Here's to 8 years of DA! and more years to come.

I love the vibrant colours (especially his hair...it has more definition than the original image) and treatment of text. Great pop-artish stuff
