Well, this is my ode to one of my favorite guilty pleasures: Weiss Kreuz. I basically just wanted to make a wallpaper of Ken. He's my favorite, he's a bish, what more reason do I need?
I took an afternoon to create the vector then began looking for a wall to put him on. I was very certain from the get go of what I wanted. I basically just thought back to the Adult Swim block on Cartoon Network. They used to very often use pictures of walls with some text they added on. Usually saying something like "Adult Swim" or "When did you stop remembering?" and by God I loved them.
Once I found an acceptable wall picture I added my vector and experimented with various methods of making him look painted on without making it look ugly. That was easy enough with the help of duplicate layers. The text I added was actually integrated in a different manner, but in the end I liked the look of the text and arrow.
After some toying with gradients and color I was happy with it, and that's the story of how it got here.
