I will never come to understand his artwork, but he is indeed one hell of an artist Amano is. You have done well, simple and nice, a little texture here, a little touch there, welcome to paradise perfection. Wonderful composition overall and beautiful by all means. I think this is a great wall of Amano you got here.
I cannot comment much, but I can say this much, it is worth a plug and a fav for my next wall, although...my wall will be a bit generic to be worthy of plugging yours.

You have beautiful technique. You managed to keep the feel and texture of Amano's choice of media and at the same time making the art into a presentable, simple but clean wallpaper.

Some Critiques:
- The occasional pixelly lines around the main character, though faint, are still there after the extraction (mainly around the creature's ears and snout). Just a touch of blur should fix it.
- Though the lines may be considered to be a part of the design, there isn't really a purpose for them on the wall. They help with presentation, but there's no story behind the work as a whole. A bit of extra creativity could be added to improve this.

These critiques are going really anal - as a whole it was really hard finding anything wrong with the piece at all =P.
The most helpful comments I can give you are suggestions for improvements on an already-very-fine wall.

Some Good Points:
- Again, love the way you managed to stick to Amano's choice of media - it looks like a watercolor-pencil sketch. Your sense of balance shows extremely well in this piece - you didn't over-saturate the colors, but kept them pastel and lightened with a bit of texture to it.
- I really like the idea of the shades in the background behind the characters. Lightly colored, with just enough emphasis to bring out the centerpiece while at the same time staying anonymous enough to be considered the backdrop of the piece.
- The outlining of the drawings and backgrounds is a very nice touch. This adds to the pencil-sketch feel.

As I said before, this is a very fine wall.
