This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.

While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.

Hehe, not exactly what you think when you think of Higurashi, eh? Still! I did like the happy set up in the original picture, so I kept with that, and re-CGed the image as well as re-created the stairs. I also used a collage technique and masking, making the trees from a variety of different scans.

It's such a happy scene. No brooding darkness. No conspiracies or mystery. No blood. No crazy and deranged knife-weilding chicks. Just two kids enjoying popsicles on a nice day. I like it. The overall brightness of the colors in he wall are great and the back ground is nice to look at just by itself. Great overall composition of the different elements. Very nice work. I think I will definitely add this to my favorites. Take care.

The mood of the wall is so romantic and fun at the same time.

I'm happy to see more Higurashi papers! This one is really ironic to the feel of the show, but at the same time is a nice mood to what Keiichi might have felt before things unraveled. Keep up the good work!

Love the wallpaper. The way you use your techniques in masking the trees from a variety of scan just makes them look realistic and spectular. The scan looks sweet and lovable ^_^

Aaah popsicle rules! i was waiting for a happy wall of Higurashi, and here it is. VERY nice job working with Higurashi artworks flawlessly (i know what i'm talking about i'm re cg-ing a scan from Higurashi right now and it's such a pain to work with this kind of drawing)
