This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.

While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.

I love this scan :D ... i wanted to work with it for a long time ... but i was planning something dark like a cathedral or something ... but while working on this i decided to make two versions : this one is the bright version (you sure all notice that ) ... She is an angel praying in a heavenly sky
I first clear the scan because it was a bit grainy and have some text on
The scan

Then i draw the wings with the pen tool (i hope you'll like them ) but soften them because the vector-look of them was too sharp for angel wings IMO
I also added a bright and pale blue sky with fluffy clouds ... i also add a halo for making a ring of light effect around her as she was wreathed with light

I wanted it simple ... that's why i didn't add more effects or thing on it ...
Plus i wanted to focuse on the scan and not on the background ...

Anyway i really really hope you'll like it :D

Hmmm... yeah, it was really very good. You made one excelent work here. But you could have done a wing more... elaborated. I find it would have been better. But she is excellent. Congratulations. ^^

The wings seem sharper than the scan. I think the bg could use a little work to give it depth. But nice overall ^^

Very nicely done, the lines are so crisp yet the effects you gave soften it up abit. really makes you feel like you're up in the clouds. the colors are beautiful too. only thing i would change is maybe the text. it blends alittle too well into the bg. but overall it's an amazing wp! :)

Hmm..i really like the soft and dreamy atmosphere of this pic, but in full view the wings are not porportional to the rest of the scan in terms of the artistic balance. In other words, they dont look like one picture, it looks like the wings were torn off from a totally different image. I would make the wings look more realistic like the scan itself to make it blend in more with the rest of the wallpaper.

Yeah this reminds me of the Wish-cover from a Fate/Stay Night audio cd. Very well chosen and even better put into scene. I like the simple look and the way the text is put into the wallpaper. Good work on combining the fore- and the background together - in my opinion it fits quite well. Even though it is a bit too bright for my taste - I still like it very much ^^ Thanks for sharing.
